Finance Supervisor at Sahara Group

Role Purpose

• To provide timely, accurate and up-to- date financial information to enhance decision making of the organization as far as finance and accounts is concerned.

Key Deliverables

General Accounting for Transaction & Management (ATT-Aviation, NPDC, ATT-IOM, WAT-IOM)

• Handles booking of Invoices/transaction on our ERP.
• Maintain an efficient filing system capable of documenting all transactions.
• Quarterly Report on intercompany balances and advising Sister Companies.
• Negotiate payment terms with vendors and suppliers.
• Generate journals for month-end reporting.
• Analyze expense reports and invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.
• Assist management in the decision-making process by preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
• Manage financial and accounting software.

Reconciliation (NGN&USD)

• Reconciliation of Bank account balances to ensure alignment with Ledgers.
• Regular review of processes of General Ledger for efficiency and data integrity.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of reconciliation process procedures.
• Ensure that adequate systems and controls are complied with to mitigate risk.

Payable Management

• Manage Naira & Dollar payments (Cash & Bank).
• Communication of payment notifications to beneficiaries.
• Generate Periodic comparative reports of Invoice Aging analysis and Vendors Credit Trend.
• Prepare accounts payable register. • Manage and control office expenditure within the budget.
• Analyze Financial transactions to determine the state of the company’s financial health.
• Develop long-term business plans based on accounting reports.
• Analyse the market trends and competitors to expand the company opportunities.

Liaison with Bank

• Build Relationship and follow up on Banks to ensure prompt payment processing.
• Handle financial negotiations with banks and other financial institutions.
• 2 years periodic Review of existing Banks Services and generate report on Pro & Cons for continuation or need for change.
• Handle Incorporation on New Company and Bank Account openings process.
• Review of Bank Charges, Fixed Asset Register
• Maintain fixed asset system for accounting, processing, and reporting of the assets.
• Quarterly Report & Reconciliation of Fixed Asset Register with Physical Verification.
• Keep track of the book value of assets, disposals and depreciation charged over a period.
• Generate monthly depreciation postings and annual account reports to management.
• Check for completeness and accuracy of fixed assets sub ledger and month-end closing activities such as account reconciliations, journal entries and adjustments.

OTHER DELIVERABLES

• Assist with other Trade Deliverables as assigned by Line Manager.

Knowledge/Skills

• Good/Sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of accounting packages/software
• Good overall knowledge of accounting and administration
• Effective time and resources management

Minimum Qualification/ Experience

• Accounting Graduate with at least 4years of work experience in similar role
• Accounting Professional Certification from ACCA, ICAN etc will be an added advantage
