    Finance Officer (Maiduguri)

    Contract: 6 months (some roles renewable)

    Job Description

    Care First Community Initiative (CFCI) is a Nigerian NGO advancing human rights, social welfare, and livelihoods for vulnerable groups through Food Security, Research, Livelihoods, Education, Shelter/CCCM/NFI, Warehousing & Logistics, Nutrition, Health, Protection/Access to Justice, Advocacy/Information, and WASH.
    We are recruiting experienced management, technical, administrative, and field personnel to deliver integrated humanitarian programming in Maiduguri and Gwoza. Successful candidates will embody CFCI’s values of Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Accountability, Transparency, Integrity, Respect, and Inclusivity, and uphold strict Child Safeguarding standards.

    Key Responsibilities (Summary by Band)

    • Executive/Management: Strategy, governance, donor/stakeholder engagement, budget oversight, quality assurance, team leadership.
    • Technical Officers (WASH/Protection/MEAL/Security): Technical design & implementation, sector coordination, monitoring & reporting, capacity building, compliance with standards (including survivor-centred and protection mainstreaming where applicable).
    • Admin/Support (HR, Comms, Finance, Grants, Procurement/Logistics): HR operations, communications & media, financial management/reporting, grant compliance, procurement, warehousing, and distribution logistics.
    • Field Roles: Community mobilization, hygiene promotion, activity supervision, data collection/CFM, quality verification, environmental sanitation, and documentation.

    Requirements (Overview)

    • Senior Management: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; 10–15 years senior NGO leadership; strong financial, donor, and governance experience.
    • Program/Technical Officers: Bachelor’s degree in field (Engineering/PH/Social Sciences/Law/Stats, etc.); 3–8 years NGO/humanitarian experience; proven sector skills (WASH, GBV/Protection, MEAL, Security).
    • Admin/Support Officers: Bachelor’s degree (HR, PR/Comms, Accounting/Finance, Business/Admin); 2–6 years relevant experience; strong systems and compliance skills.
    • Field/Assistants/Volunteers: SSCE or relevant diploma/tertiary advantage; 1–4 years community or project experience preferred; strong community engagement and basic IT/reporting skills.
    • All Roles: Fluency in English and local languages; commitment to humanitarian principles, safeguarding and confidentiality; many roles prefer/require a valid driving licence.

    Safeguarding Levels: Vary by role (Level 1–3); all staff must comply with CFCI Child Safeguarding Policy.
