As a Finance officer, you’re the backbone of our country office operations - ensuring financial integrity, driving efficient program delivery, and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. From budgets to compliance, you’ll play a key role in supporting both the strategic and day-to-day financial and administrative functions that help our work make real impact on the ground.
The position is based in Lagos, Nigeria with regular travels to project sites spread across Nigeria.
Key responsibilities:
Ensure accurate and timely financial administration for the Nigeria country office, maintaining integrity of all books and records.
Coordinate the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing and payment execution.
Manage payroll administration in line with internal controls and local regulations.
Contribute to annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes aligned with organisational business planning.
Produce monthly depletion reports and quarterly financial reports for internal and donor stakeholders.
Provide clear and reliable financial information to internal teams, donors, and external partners.
Facilitate annual audits and ensure timely submission of audit documentation and reports.
Implement and monitor adherence to financial policies, donor agreements, and statutory requirements.
Review and consolidate partner financial reports prior to donor submission.
Identify financial risks and escalate or propose mitigation measures where required.
Support procurement and monitoring of office supplies, utilities, and administrative services.
Coordinate travel logistics and administrative arrangements for staff.
Maintain smooth day-to-day office operations and provide administrative support to ensure an efficient working environment.

What you bring.
Minimum 3 years of experience in finance and accounting in an international organisation
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in finance, accounting, business economics, or a related field.
Professional certification in accounting (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.
Experience with financial management, Analysis, and reporting in international organisations. Familiarity with Salesforce is an advantage.
Knowledge of political and administrative constraints affecting civil society organisations.
Strong competencies in using spreadsheets for financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and Power BI
Experience using accounting software (e.g., SpendCloud, Exact).
Understand tax laws (PAYE, VAT, WHT) and financial regulations.
Ability to develop, monitor, and analyse budgets.
Strong knowledge of financial statements, reconciliations, and reporting standards (IFRS, GAAP).
Full professional proficiency in English; proficiency in another widely spoken language is an asset.
Strong Excel skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
