The Finance & Accounts Manager is responsible for financial stewardship, governance, and commercial support of the Innovation Park. The role ensures sound financial management, transparency, sustainability, and strategic decision support across operations, programs, infrastructure, and partnerships.
The position plays a critical role in translating the Park’s innovation and growth strategy into robust financial planning, controls, and performance insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Strategy
- Lead annual budgeting, medium-term financial planning, and rolling forecasts aligned with the Innovation Park’s strategic objectives.
- Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis to support infrastructure expansion, new programs, partnerships, and investments.
- Advise management on cost optimization, revenue diversification, and financial sustainability strategies.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, the board, and key stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, financial regulations, and reporting requirements.
Revenue, Grants & Commercial Oversight
- Manage revenue streams, including leases, service charges, program fees, sponsorships, grants, and partnerships.
- Track grant funding, donor reporting, and compliance with funding agreements.
- Support commercial negotiations by providing financial insights and deal analysis.
Internal Controls, Risk & Compliance
- Design and maintain strong internal controls, financial policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accountability.
- Coordinate audits (internal and external) and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Manage tax compliance, statutory filings, and regulatory obligations.
Procurement & Cost Management
- Oversee financial aspects of procurement, vendor management, and contract payments.
- Monitor operational expenditures, capex projects, and infrastructure-related costs to ensure value for money.
- Implement cost-control measures without compromising service quality or innovation outcomes.
Stakeholder & Management Support
- Partner with the COO and program leads to provide financial insights for operational and program decisions.
- Support board committees and management with financial dashboards and KPIs.
- Engage with banks, auditors, regulators, donors, and development partners as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
- A professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is mandatory.
- Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial finance role.
- Experience in innovation hubs, infrastructure projects, public–private partnerships, or donor-funded environments is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, tax, audit, and regulatory frameworks.
