Lead and manage Layer and Broiler Breeder operations, utilizing ultra-modern and automated systems (e.g., closed houses, tunnel ventilation, automatic feeding, automatic egg collection systems) with minimal human intervention.
Oversee farms to ensure adherence to best-in-class international industry norms.
Recruit, develop, and train team members, establishing and implementing best practices for brooding and growing, vaccination, health, biosecurity measures, and the performance of broiler parent stock (PS) flocks.
Develop and implement protocols for body weight and flock uniformity, vaccination, health, biosecurity, labor sanitation practices, feeding, and preventive medication. Create formats for measuring performance parameters.
Improve project infrastructure to enable efficient utilization of facilities/resources and achieve strong performance with low operating costs.
Implement and maintain exceptionally high international biosecurity standards.
Develop reporting formats and conduct regular performance reviews for team members.
Achieve targets for mortalities, flock uniformity, egg production, Hatching Eggs per hen housed (HE/HH), and reduce the cost of hatching egg production.
Requirements
15-20 years of experience across diverse markets, including regions with high levels of automation in closed houses and developing regions (Africa experience preferred). This blend of experience is essential for achieving developed-world standards in Nigeria.
Bachelor’s degree in veterinary sciences/agriculture science (Animal Production) or Post-graduation in Veterinary Sciences with a specialization in Poultry Production/Pathology.
