Role Overview
The Executive Director will serve as the chief executive officer of BYN Agro Allied Nigeria Limited, providing overall vision, leadership, and direction to transform the company into a leading agribusiness enterprise in Nigeria. Based in Keffi with nationwide operations, the Executive Director will oversee the company’s integrated agricultural value chain—from production and processing to distribution and marketing—while ensuring sustainable profitability, innovation, and impact on rural livelihoods.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the formulation and execution of nationwide strategies for BYN Agro Allied’s agricultural operations.
- Position the company as a trusted private-sector driver of agricultural modernization across Nigeria.
- Oversee business planning, investment strategies, and annual operational targets.
Value Chain Management
- Direct the entire agricultural value chain nationwide, including:
- Inputs Supply: High-quality seeds, fertilizers, feeds, and agro-chemicals.
- Primary Production: Crop farming (maize, rice, sorghum, groundnut, cassava, etc.), livestock, poultry, aquaculture, and horticulture.
- Processing & Industrialization: Feed mills, rice milling, cassava processing, cold storage, and packaging facilities.
- Distribution & Marketing: Regional and national market integration, off-take agreements, and export readiness.
- Promote ICT solutions for agricultural advisory, traceability, and farmer–market linkages.
Financial & Investment Oversight
- Mobilize financing (local and international) to expand value-chain investments.
- Ensure robust financial management, accountability, and cost-efficiency.
- Develop and present bankable proposals for agricultural industrialization projects nationwide.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Strengthen relationships with government ministries (Federal & State), farmers’ cooperatives, DFIs, agritech innovators, and investors.
- Represent BYN Agro Allied at national and international forums.
- Build trust with host communities across Nigeria to secure broad support.
Human Capital Development
- Establish and lead a high-performing team based in Keffi with nationwide reach.
- Recruit, train, and manage staff across agriculture, finance, operations, logistics, and ICT.
- Implement farmer extension and capacity-building programs nationwide.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian corporate, agricultural, and environmental regulations.
- Embed corporate governance best practices in all operations.
- Drive climate-smart agriculture, sustainability, and ESG standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- 12–15 years of senior management experience in agribusiness, agro-processing, or related industries.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing large-scale agricultural value chains.
- Strong track record of fundraising, partnership building, and agribusiness project execution.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
