Job Summary
Responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework across Credit Direct. The role ensures that all material risks (credit, operational, market, compliance, strategic, technology, and reputational risks) are identified, assessed, monitored, and managed in line with the organization’s risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and strategic objectives.
Job Details
Enterprise Risk Management Framework;
- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework across the organization.
- Define and maintain the organization’s risk taxonomy, risk appetite statements, and risk governance structures.
- Ensure alignment between enterprise risk strategy, business strategy, and regulatory expectations.
- Lead the identification, assessment, prioritization, and mitigation of enterprise-wide risks.
- Embed risk management practices into business planning, decision-making, and execution processes.
- Serve as a key advisor to Executive Management and the Board on enterprise risk matters.
Risk Assessment and Monitoring:
- Oversee periodic enterprise risk assessments (ERAs) covering credit, operational, market, compliance, technology, and strategic risks.
- Ensure effective implementation of risk and control self-assessments (RCSAs) across functions.
- Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and emerging risk trends, escalating material issues proactively.
- Review risk reports developed by risk teams, provide insights, and recommend mitigation strategies to Management.
- Implement tools and systems for enterprise risk monitoring, reporting, and analytics.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, industry standards, and internal risk policies
- Coordinate internal and external audits related to risk management and follow through on remediation actions
Portfolio, Operational & Strategic Risk Oversight:
- Oversee enterprise-wide risk exposure across portfolios, products, and business lines.
- Assess the impact of macroeconomic trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics on overall risk posture.
- Collaborate with business units during new product development, digital initiatives, and major transformations to assess risk implications.
- Ensure risk considerations are embedded in strategic initiatives, investments, and partnerships.
- Develop and maintain enterprise stress testing and scenario analysis frameworks.
Risk Governance & Reporting:
- Prepare and present comprehensive enterprise risk reports to the CRO, Executive Management, and Board Committees.
- Support Management and Board Risk Committee meetings with accurate, timely, and decision-oriented risk insights.
- Ensure clear communication of risk exposures, risk appetite breaches, and mitigation plans across the organization.
- Drive a culture of transparency, accountability, and proactive risk ownership
People & Risk Culture Management:
- Lead and manage enterprise risk teams, providing strategic direction, coaching, and performance oversight.
- Foster a strong risk-aware culture where employees understand their risk responsibilities.
- Build risk capability across the organization through training, awareness sessions, and leadership engagement.
- Ensure the ERM function has the right talent, tools, and processes to deliver effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management or a related field
- Relevant postgraduate/master’s degree or professional certifications such as CFA, ACA, ACCA, ICM, FRM, or PRM preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in retail credit risk management within the financial services industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership/supervisory role.
- Proven track record of managing credit risk in a retail lending environment
Technical:
- Strong understanding of Enterprise Risk Management frameworks (COSO, ISO 31000).
- Broad knowledge of credit, operational, market, compliance, and strategic risk management.
- Ability to interpret macroeconomic trends and translate them into enterprise risk insights.
- Strong data analysis, reporting, and risk dashboard capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of financial services regulations and risk governance expectations.
- Experience with stress testing, scenario analysis, and emerging risk assessment.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills for executive and board-level audiences.
- Ability to leverage technology, analytics, and AI tools for enterprise risk monitoring.
