English Teacher at St. Francis Catholic Secondary School

Responsibilities

• Instruct students about the structure and content of the English Language.
• Emphasize the rules of composition, grammar, and sentence construction.
• Teach students to think critically when studying literature and poetry.
• Teach students the correct pronunciation of words.
• Plan and prepare lesson plans that meet core objectives and principles that are in line with curriculum goals.
• Deliver lessons using a variety of differentiated instructional techniques that are appropriate to the academic level and meet the diverse needs of students.
• Develop students' verbal skills including reading out loud, discussion, and debate.
• Develop students' writing skills.
• Monitor performance and progress and modify instructional methods to meet individual needs where necessary.
• Maintain accurate and complete students records including attendance, grades, assessments and test scores.

Requirements

• B.A / B. Ed / PGDE English Language or related course
• Proven experience as an English Teacher
• Must be competent in teaching SAT and IGCSE
• Knowledge of teaching styles is recommended
• Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
