Engineering Manager / Lead – Gas based Combined Cycle Power Plant at Petroexcel Technology Services (P) Limited

About the Role

• We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead all engineering activities for a large-scale Gas-Based Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) project.
• The role requires managing multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring high-quality designs, optimizing plant performance, and coordinating with EPC contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to deliver the project on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering from concept design to commissioning.
• Oversee preparation, review, and approval of technical documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Provide timely engineering decisions and solutions.
• Manage basic, detail, and interface engineering, including:
• Equipment selection & plant parameters
• P&IDs, SLDs, schemes, flow diagrams
• Layouts, plot plans, design memorandums, concept notes
• Technical specifications for procurement
• Review of techno-commercial offers and recommendations
• Support procurement team with technical evaluations and vendor selection.
• Review and approve suppliers’/contractors’ documents, drawings, datasheets, and quality plans.
• Ensure compliance with international industry standards.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
• Optimize plant configuration, cycle design, and equipment selection.
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and performance testing.
• Monitor engineering progress, risks, and mitigation plans; expedite activities where needed.
• Support commercial aspects: invoicing, billing approvals, and negotiating cost impacts.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• PMP certification preferred (added advantage).
• 20+ years’ experience in power generation, with at least 10–15 years in engineering management.
• Proven track record in delivering large-scale (>500 MW) CCPP projects.
• Strong knowledge of EPC environments and international codes/standards.
• Broad technical knowledge across Mechanical, Electrical, I&C, and Civil domains.
• Experience with reputed engineering consultancy firms in leadership roles.
