    Director of Works and Physical Planning

    Job Summary:

    • The Director of Works and Physical Planning Unit is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and maintenance of the University's physical infrastructure and facilities.
    • The Director is also expected to undertake any additional responsibilities as assigned by the Vice- Chancellor

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement strategic plans for the University's physical Development
    • Manage the maintenance and upkeep of University buildings, roads, and facilities
    • Oversee the planning and execution of capital projects
    • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
    • Supervise a team of professionals and support staff
    • Collaborate with other University departments and stakeholders

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of a second-class degree in a relevant field (e.g., Architecture,
    • Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Estate Management)
    • Not below the rank of Chief Engineer or Deputy Director
    • Professional certifications (e.g., COREN, NIA, NQS, NIQS) are an advantage

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 12 years of experience in a similar role
    • Proven track record of managing large-scale projects and teams
    • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

    Conditions of Service

    • The appointment shall be for a term of five (5) years and renewable upon satisfactory
    • performance. Salary and other benefits are attractive and comparable to what is obtainable in other
    • Universities and as may be determined from time to time by the Governing Council.
