    Credit Officer

    Job Summary

    The Credit Officer is responsible for evaluating and managing vehicle financing applications, assessing customers’ creditworthiness, minimizing credit risk, and ensuring timely repayment of auto loans. The role supports vehicle sales growth while maintaining healthy credit portfolio performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    Credit Evaluation & Loan Processing

    • Review auto loan applications submitted by customers and sales teams. 
    • Analyze customer financial capacity, income stability, and repayment ability. 
    • Conduct credit checks, background verification, and employment validation. 
    • Assess risks associated with vehicle financing and recommend approval or rejection. 
    • Structure appropriate loan terms including tenure, down payment, and repayment schedule. 
    • Prepare credit appraisal reports for management approval. 

    Automobile Financing Support

    • Collaborate closely with vehicle sales teams to facilitate financing options. 
    • Advise customers on available vehicle financing plans and requirements. 
    • Ensure alignment between vehicle pricing, loan amount, and customer affordability. 
    • Support dealer financing programs and fleet financing arrangements. 

    Risk Management & Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with company credit policies and regulatory guidelines. 
    • Monitor credit exposure related to financed vehicles. 
    • Verify vehicle ownership documentation and collateral registration. 
    • Ensure proper perfection of collateral (vehicle registration, tracking, insurance). 

    Portfolio Monitoring & Loan Recovery

    • Monitor repayment schedules and financed vehicle performance. 
    • Track delinquent accounts and initiate early recovery actions. 
    • Coordinate repossession processes where necessary. 
    • Recommend restructuring solutions for distressed accounts. 

    Documentation & Reporting

    • Maintain accurate customer credit files and financing documentation. 
    • Ensure proper execution of loan agreements and supporting documents. 
    • Prepare periodic credit performance and portfolio risk reports. 
    • Support internal audit and compliance reviews. 

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field. 
    • 2–5 years’ experience in credit analysis, auto finance, leasing, banking, or asset financing. 
    • Experience in automobile financing or asset-backed lending is an added advantage. 
    • Candidate who stay in ikorodu and Ajah wil be an added advantage
    • Work Days- Mon - Fri- 8.30- 6pm and Sat- 9-1.30pm
