    We are seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Accountant to strengthen our finance function and support business decision-making across our operating units.

    The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, supporting financial reporting, and providing insights to drive business performance—particularly within Oil & Gas operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring timely financial closing and reporting cycles. 
    • Maintain the general ledger and perform account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial records. 
    • Manage accounting for petroleum product inventory and depot transactions, including stock reconciliation and cost tracking. 
    • Track and analyze cost of sales, margins, pricing, and operational expenses, including monitoring volume and supply chain variances. 
    • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and performance monitoring against business targets. 
    • Implement and monitor internal control systems, ensuring adherence to company policies and financial procedures. 
    • Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies, while supporting internal and external audit processes. 
    • Provide financial insights for decision-making and collaborate with cross-functional teams, supporting multi-sector financial consolidation.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
    • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA) – Required or in progress 
    • Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience, preferably in Oil & Gas and/or manufacturing (Plastic) sectors  
    • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and tax regulations in Nigeria 

    Key Skills & Competencies

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail 
    • Knowledge of Oil & Gas accounting operations 
    • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Sage, QuickBooks) 
    • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills 
    • Strong integrity, confidentiality, and ethical standards 
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
