    Creative Strategist

    Job Summary:

    • The creative strategist is a factfinder, question-asker and all-around storyteller that assists the Strategy team in uncovering cultural insights through primary research, secondary research, a steady handle on culture. They put the pieces together from disparate information, ask a ton of smart questions and find the things that others can’t see. They dive deep, get immersed and leave no stone unturned. Their inexhaustible curiosity serves up information, insights and inspiration on a consistent basis, making them an essential part of the strategic thinking, creative process and culture of JT. 

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership

    • Lead the development of creative strategies that drive brand growth and cultural relevance.
    • Build inspiring, insight-led briefs that fuel breakthrough creative work. Translate research, data, and trends into compelling narratives for clients and internal teams.
    • Partner with creative, account, and business leadership teams to ensure strategies are tightly connected to execution.

    Client & Business Impact 

    • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them navigate challenges with fresh, strategic solutions.
    • Craft and deliver compelling presentations that clearly communicate consumer stories, opportunities, and creative directions.
    • Conduct competitive landscape assessments, benchmarking, and cultural analysis to inform strategy.
    • Collaborate with clients and teams to identify growth opportunities and build long-term brand platforms.

    Creative & Cultural Contribution 

    • Track cultural, social, digital, and technological shifts to inspire new ways of thinking.
    • Translate audience insights into channel strategies, engagement plans, and innovative activations.
    • Work with creative teams to visualize and bring strategic thinking to life.
    • Contribute to award submissions, case studies, and thought leadership that showcase JT’s work and thinking.

    Team & Agency Collaboration 

    • Mentor junior strategists, fostering a culture of learning, curiosity, and creativity.
    • Collaborate across disciplines (creative, digital, media, production) to ensure holistic brand solutions.
    • Share knowledge and best practices within the team, helping to elevate the agency’s strategic craft.

    Qualifications & Skills 

    • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree is a plus).
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in strategy, planning, or brand development, preferably within creative, media or advertising agencies.
    • Proven ability to translate insights into inspiring creative strategies and ideas.
    • Strong data literacy and ability to interpret both qualitative and quantitative research.
    • Exceptional storytelling and presentation skills; able to make the complex simple and inspiring.
    • Digital and social fluency with a strong understanding of emerging platforms and audience behaviour.
    • Collaborative mindset with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams.
    • A passion for creativity, innovation, and effectiveness in brand building.
    • Ability to thrive under pressure, juggle multiple priorities, and deliver on tight timelines.
