    Creative Art Teacher (Volunteer)

    Job Description

    • The Creative Art Teacher (Volunteer) role is strictly a free service to humanity.
    • It is designed for passionate individuals who wish to selflessly offer their artistic skills to empower children and youth.
    • There is no financial compensation attached to this position.

    Overall purpose of the role:

    • The Creative Art Teacher (volunteer) is responsible for inspiring and nurturing creativity in children and youth through art-based activities. 
    • The role aims to foster self-expression, confidence, and creative skill-building among vulnerable children and young people in the community. 
    • The Teacher will plan, facilitate, and support art and creative sessions to promote holistic child development.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Design and deliver engaging art and creative workshops for children and youth.
    • Facilitate drawing, painting, crafts, storytelling, and other expressive activities.
    • Support children in building their creative confidence and expressing their ideas.
    • Collaborate with other volunteers and staff to integrate art into community events and programs.
    • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for participants.
    • Document participation and progress, and contribute to reports on activities.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Qualification: NCE, B.Ed, B.A (Education, Fine Arts, Creative Arts, or related fields)
    • Experience: Experience teaching or working with children (formal or informal)
    • A teaching qualification or experience in creative arts education is preferred.
    • Strong passion for working with children and empowering their creativity.
    • Ability to dedicate at least two sessions per week (about 2–3 hours each).
    • Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for community development.
    • Willingness to undergo safeguarding and child protection training (provided by ARISE).
    • Language required: Fluency in oral and written English is required, and a Native Language of the area would be an added advantage.
