    Country Operations Manager

    Job Summary

    • The Country Operations Manager will establish and lead the organisation's presence in Nigeria, driving client acquisition, relationship management, and project delivery oversight.
    • The role will ensure that human-centered systems design solutions are adapted to local realities while aligned with global standards.

    Key Responsibilities
    Strategic Leadership & Market Development:

    • Establish operations in Nigeria, building visibility and credibility in the market.
    • Develop and implement client acquisition strategies across government, private sector, NGOs, and international development partners.
    • Adapt global frameworks to Nigeria’s local context while ensuring alignment with global standards.

    Client Acquisition & Business Growth:

    • Identify, pursue, and secure new clients, contracts, and partnerships.
    • Lead the development of proposals, pitches, and partnership negotiations.
    • Maintain a client pipeline and monitor market trends to anticipate opportunities.

    Client Relationship & Retention:

    • Serve as the primary relationship manager for Nigerian clients and partners.
    • Ensure high-quality delivery of products.
    • Gather client feedback and use insights to improve services and solutions.
    • Build long-term relationships through consistent value delivery and trust-building.

    Operational Oversight:

    • Supervise in-country staff, consultants, and project teams.
    • Ensure compliance with ethical standards, integrity guidelines, and financial accountability.
    • Oversee budgeting, reporting, and operational planning for Nigeria.

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Represent the organisation at conferences, policy dialogues, and industry networks.
    • Build alliances with universities, think tanks, and innovation hubs to strengthen the organisation's ecosystem.
    • Act as the key spokesperson for the organisation in Nigeria.

    Deliverables (First 12–18 Months):

    • Establish a fully functional country office.
    • Develop a Nigeria-specific client acquisition and retention strategy.
    • Secure at least 3–5 flagship client accounts/projects within the first year.
    • Build a strong local partner ecosystem (universities, NGOs, corporates).
    • Deliver quarterly reports on business development, client satisfaction, and market growth.

    Qualifications & Competencies:

    • Master’s degree in business, Social Sciences, Public Policy, or related field.
    • Minimum 8–10 years in consultancy, systems design, or strategy roles.
    • Proven track record in client acquisition, partnership management, and business development.
    • Strong understanding of Nigeria’s governance, private sector, and development ecosystem.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    • High integrity, results-oriented, and entrepreneurial mindset.

    Duration & Review:

    • Initial contract: 2 years, renewable based on performance.
    • Annual performance review against client acquisition, retention, and impact metrics.

    Requirements

    • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 8 - 10 years of work experience.
