    Business Development Manager

    Preferred Candidate: Hausa-speaking

    Role Overview

    The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing government (MDAs) and corporate business opportunities. The role is critical to driving long-term contracts and partnerships while expanding the company’s presence in sustainable waste management, recycling, and environmental services across Abuja and the Northern region.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Identify and pursue government contracts, tenders, and opportunities with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
    • Develop and manage corporate partnerships with multinationals, manufacturing companies, construction firms, estates, and large institutions.
    • Monitor and respond to RFPs, RFQs, EOIs, and tenders, ensuring timely and compliant submissions.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, procurement officers, and corporate decision-makers.
    • Prepare, negotiate, and close long-term service contracts, MOUs, and SLAs.
    • Conduct market intelligence on sustainability initiatives, environmental regulations, and recycling opportunities.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposals meet technical, regulatory, and operational requirements.
    • Represent the company at government meetings, stakeholder engagements, and industry forums.
    • Achieve assigned revenue, contract value, and pipeline targets.
    • Provide regular reports on pipeline status, tender outcomes, and market insights.

    Requirements & Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Administration, Environmental Management, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in business development, with strong exposure to government and/or corporate contracts.
    • Proven experience managing tenders, bids, and procurement processes.
    • Strong negotiation, proposal writing, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Fluency in Hausa is required; strong proficiency in English is essential.
    • Solid understanding of the Abuja public-sector environment and corporate landscape.
    • Experience in waste management, recycling, environmental services, or related sectors is an added advantage.
    • Self-driven, highly organized, and target-oriented.
