ABOUT THE ROLE
68byalake is a growing fashion production company transitioning into a structured, system-driven RTW factory. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accountant who has previously worked in a fashion house, tailoring business, or production-based company and understands the realities of fabric sourcing, production costs, wastage, and inventory movement.
This role is not for theoretical accountants or individuals looking for access without accountability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management & Controls
- Maintain accurate books of accounts (daily, weekly, monthly)
- Track all income, expenses, payroll, and production costs
- Reconcile bank statements, POS records, transfers, and cash usage
- Prepare monthly financial reports for management review
Fashion-Specific Accounting (VERY IMPORTANT)
- Track fabric purchases, trims, accessories, and production materials
- Monitor cost per garment (RTW, couture, bespoke)
- Work closely with production to:
- Identify wastage
- Flag cost leakages
- Prevent material inflation or substitution
- Understand tailoring workflows enough to question irregular expenses
Inventory & Requisition Oversight
- Cross-check requisitions against actual purchases and usage
- Ensure all market runs, supplier payments, and purchases are documented
- Support bin card and material movement tracking (with operations team)
Tax & Regulatory Compliance (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
- Ensure full compliance with current Nigerian tax laws, including:
- PAYE
- WHT
- VAT
- Company Income Tax
- Prepare records for audits and statutory filings
- Liaise with tax authorities when required
Internal Controls & Fraud Prevention
- Enforce proper approval processes for payments
- Ensure no single person controls:
- Request
- Approval
- Payment
- Recording
- Flag suspicious patterns immediately
- Operate with transparency, integrity, and traceability
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3–6 years accounting experience
- Must have worked in a fashion house, tailoring business, factory, or production-driven company
- OND/HND/BSc in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional certification (ICAN / ANAN) is a strong advantage
- Strong Excel / accounting software skills
- Clear understanding of:
- Production costing
- Inventory-linked accounting
- Small-to-mid size business controls

SALARY & WORK STRUCTURE
- Salary: ₦150,000 – ₦250,000 (depending on experience)
- Working Days: Monday – Friday
- Work Mode: Fully on-site
