    Corporate Medical Services Manager

    • At Eni, we are looking for a Health manager within Nigerian Agip Oil Company Ltd. in Abuja, Nigeria.
    • You will be managing the resources and activities required to achieve optimum health and productivity for employees in the business unit, providing functional leadership to enable the local occupational health and medical support teams to achieve this and to supply expert medical advice on all matters relating to health, in particular the health of employees at work.

    As a member of the Health Team, you will be responsible for:

    • Organizing, implementing and following up the Health Management System in the Business Unit
    • Organizing and running of health promotion programs for the company
    • Designing, implementing and following up occupational health programs related to occupational medicine (EG: fitness to work, health surveillance, ergonomics, etc.) and industrial hygiene (EG: catering and water, workplace monitoring program, sampling and monitoring of risks, Health Risk Assessment, etc.)
    • Implementing and overseeing the medical support service, which includes medical attention, medical insurance, specialized net of attention, medical emergency response plan and medical evacuation service
    • Participating in strategic company objectives and policies, e.g.: OHSAS 18001 certification, sustainable health projects, standards and procedures, etc.
    • Input of health standards into the company HSE-IMS (Integrated Management System)
    • Setting standards for monitoring contractors with third party health and medical service providers
    • Participating in HSE and HR company activities
    • Discussing health surveillance activities and database development
    • Coordinating the administrative activities for budget control, third party medical services providers, duties and medical records, and well as developing and following up of health-related administrative matters
    • Identification, assessment and advice on health risks associated with company’s activities (including new project development) and the living environment
    • Performing the necessary health reporting and audit activities
    • Providing support to community health activities, health impact assessment and health social projects
    • Actively participating in the definition and evaluation of health contractual requirements for third party contractors during project execution in the Business Unit.

    This is the opportunity for you if you have these skills and requirements:

    • Internationally recognized medical degree meeting the requirements for a medical doctor
    • Certification and registration in occupational medicine or public health or Emergency specialty (EU/US level or equivalent), with extensive post certification experience
    • Previous experience as Health Manager & Chief Industrial Doctor in an industrial setting, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry
    • Intermediate level of spoken and written English. Italian language desirable
    • Broad and solid lead medical/health professional expertise and experience to organize and implement a sound, integrated occupational health system for the Business Unit
    • Excellent communications skills and well-versed experience in dealing with diverse cultures
    • Proven ability to interact effectively at all levels and influence a wide variety of stakeholders, including management, staff, contractors, other health professionals, as well as health authorities, NGOs and local communities
    • Understanding and experience/affinity with public and community health as part of sustainable development.
