As the Compliance and Risk Officer you will ensures that the Bureau De Change (BDC) operates within the legal and regulatory frameworks of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other relevant bodies.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including CBN, NFIU, EFCC, and other relevant local or international bodies.
Develop, implement, and maintain effective compliance frameworks, including AML/CFT programs, policies, and procedures.
Conduct regular internal compliance checks, audits, and risk assessments; maintain a comprehensive risk register.
Ensure customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and KYC processes are fully compliant and up to date.
Identify, assess, and prioritize operational, regulatory, reputational, and financial risks; develop mitigation strategies and internal control mechanisms.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage.
Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in compliance, risk, or audit within a regulated financial institution or group structure, preferably a BDC.
Professional certifications in Compliance, AML (e.g., CAMS, CICA), or Risk Management are preferred.
Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
