The Coating Supervisor will be responsible for supervising surface preparation, coating, and painting activities to ensure the protection of piping, structures, and equipment from corrosion and environmental exposure.
This role ensures compliance with approved work pack, overseeing contractor performance and unblocking SIMOPS related challenges during execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct daily toolbox meetings and site briefings to align work priorities.
Oversee surface preparation methods onsite across assigned work locations
Ensure proper selection and application of coatings, primers, and corrosion protection systemfollowing approved work packs.
Ensure coatings are applied as per specifications, including DFT (Dry Film Thickness)measurement, adhesion testing, and curing verification
Identify defects, improper applications, or non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous coating materials (e.g., epoxy, polyurethane, zinc coatings).
Supervise and coordinate contractor personnel and coating crews, ensuring adherence to project schedules.
Track and report material usage, wastage, and reordering requirements.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
HND or bachelor's degree in engineering or sciences.3 years of experience in industrial coating, corrosion protection, and field supervision within LNG, oil & gas, or petrochemical industries.
Strong knowledge of coating types and application techniques.
Familiarity with international standards
NACE or SSPC certification (CIP Level 1, 2, or 3) is a strong advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office for report generation.
