Job Summary

• A cloud architect will design and build the cloud computing architecture that all businesses rely on if they are to operate in a flexible and agile fashion.
• It is the cloud architect who has the knowledge and capability required to craft cloud solutions to meet and exceed the requirements of the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Translating project-specific needs into a cloud structure that will suit those needs and considering the project needs in terms of resource usage and scalability.
• Designing the cloud environment from a holistic point of view, ensuring it meets all of the company's requirements.
• Create a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the adaption process.
• Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software.
• Overseeing cloud security.
• Completing the integration of new applications into the cloud environment.
• Develop and organize cloud systems.
• Work closely with IT security to monitor the company's cloud privacy.
• Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner.
• Keeping on top of usage of space in the cloud and making sure the structure is operating at full efficiency.
• Working with business clients to understand their needs and to implement the cloud strategies designed to meet those needs.
• Conducting migration, where necessary, to bring tools and other elements into the cloud.
• Working with virtualisation technologies to achieve effective server management for the business.
• Offer guidance in infrastructure movement techniques including bulk application transfers into the cloud.
• Identify the top cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet the strategic needs of the company.

Qualifications
Academic Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant field.

Professional Qualification:

• Any relevant Professional Qualification

Experience:

• 3-5 + years' experience designing, executing, and supporting IT cloud solutions.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Able to work proficiently with a number of different operating systems, including Windows, Mac, and Linux.
• Proficient with Amazon Web Services, as well as Microsoft Azure Cloud.
• In-depth knowledge of networking an associated technologies, including LAN/WAN, OSI, TCP/IP, File Transfer Protocols, Telnet and Secure Shell, Load balancer, Domain Name System, and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, among others.
• Design knowledge for cloud architecture.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure configuration and deployment.
• Cloud service management skills Knowledge of web and application servers.
• Ability to work with physical hardware and virtual machines.
