    Chinese Chef

    Job Summary

    • The Chef is responsible for preparing authentic Chinese cuisine to meet the dietary needs and preferences of our staff. The chef will manage the kitchen operations, ensure high standards of food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in traditional and contemporary Chinese cooking, focusing on providing high-quality meals.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare a wide variety of Chinese dishes, including regional specialties (Cantonese, Sichuan, Shandong, etc.).
    • Create meal plans and menus that offer variety, flavor, and balance for the Chinese staff.
    • Adjust menus based on seasonal ingredients, availability, and feedback from staff.
    • Supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during food preparation and service.
    • Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen equipment and workspaces.
    • Order supplies and manage inventory of ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality.
    • Monitor food preparation processes to ensure consistency and quality control.
    • Ensure the kitchen complies with health and safety regulations, including food storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
    • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in food preparation and kitchen areas.
    • Implement and follow safety procedures to prevent accidents or contamination.
    • Continuously improve recipes and food quality based on staff feedback.
    • Stay updated on trends in Chinese cuisine and introduce innovative dishes or cooking techniques when appropriate.

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    Education:

    • Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or professional training as a chef specializing in Chinese cuisine.

    Experience:

    • 3-5 years of experience as a Chinese Chef in a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment.
    • Experience preparing a wide range of Chinese dishes, including traditional and regional specialties.

    Skills:

    • Expertise in Chinese cooking techniques, such as wok frying, steaming, and stir-frying.
    • Knowledge of Chinese ingredients, sauces, and flavor profiles.
    • Ability to prepare food in large quantities while maintaining high quality.
    • Strong time management and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
