Assist the business in complying with the Group Policy Framework and reduce operational losses, client complaints and damage to the Group’s reputation.
Responsible for driving risk management strategy and for implementing the ARM Group’s risk management framework, to protect enterprise value.
The CRO shall strike a balance between supporting the business in enterprise value creation and defining control mechanisms intended to protect enterprise value, thereby, enabling the business to balance risks and rewards.
Provide leadership and oversight over the risk management, internal control, information security and compliance functions, and ensure appropriate coordination of the activities of all the Group’s governance, risk and compliance (GRC) functions.
Coordinate the management of engagements and relationships with regulators and critical external stakeholders.

Participate in strategy definition.
Establish and communicate the top-level risk management and control vision.
Lead the formulation of the firm’s risk appetite statement, as well as all relevant risk and control policies.
Adopt an enterprise-wide approach / view to risk management, to understand the risk profile of the Group as a whole, and of the specific lines of business, and evaluating the impact of change on the risk profile.
Enable the efficient and effective governance of all significant risks and related opportunities.
Design and implement an appropriate risk management, control and compliance infrastructure.
Understand enterprise risk, monitoring changes in risk profile, and aligning risks with desired tolerances.
Provide the Board and senior Management with a strong and respected independent view of critical risks and risk management issues.
Constructive Board engagement, to achieve visibility and discussion of critical compliance, risk and control issues at the Board and Board Committee levels.
Achieve high level of collaboration between the business managers and the GRC teams.
Provide business managers with risk, compliance and other business insights that would enhance business decisions. Identify and assess business “unknowns”.
Establish a learning culture for controls, risk management and compliance across the organisation.
Establish, communicate and facilitate the use of appropriate risk management methodologies, tools and techniques.
Facilitate enterprise risk assessments and monitor the capabilities around managing the priority risks across the institution.
Implement appropriate/meaningful action-oriented risk reporting to the overall Board, specific board committees and senior management.
Determine the appropriate mix of centralised and decentralised approaches to establishing risk policy and standards, defining risk appetite, and setting risk thresholds and limits.
Review compensation plan to consider the impact of risk factors and the compensation structure on behaviour.
Adopt forward-looking indicators of risk.
Monitoring and identifying emergent risks and changes in the regulatory environment.
Carry out independent evaluations and appraisals of the effectiveness of the policies, rules and procedures through which the ARM Group’s financial, physical and human resources are managed.
Provide management with a comprehensive risk management and compliance processes to ensure that risks are identified and evaluate existing internal controls’ ability to mitigate the impact and likelihood of occurrence of the identified risks.
Requirements
First degree in an analytical discipline, such as: Accounting, Finance or Engineering
A relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CFA, FRM) and/or a Master's degree.
Maximum of Twenty years (20) relevant experience in the financial services sector or in a related role.
