Cement Plant / Production Manager Consultant at AVENTA Electric Cars

Job Summary:

• We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Cement Plant / Production Manager Consultant to drive operational excellence and transformation across cement manufacturing and production sites in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. Ideal candidates will have 8–15 years of experience in industrial consulting, cement plant operations, or infrastructure project delivery—preferably with prior experience at a Big Four firm or an international industrial advisory firm.
• This role requires a deep understanding of cement production processes, from raw material extraction to final packaging, along with the ability to deploy digital tools, AI, and ESG-aligned frameworks to optimize efficiency, cost, compliance, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Strategy & Performance Optimization

• Evaluate end-to-end cement production processes and design strategies for efficiency improvement, downtime reduction, and waste minimization.
• Support capacity expansion projects, plant upgrades, and cost restructuring plans across multiple production sites.
• Advise on automation of production lines and implementation of smart manufacturing technologies (Industry 4.0).

Data & Digital Transformation

• Guide the digitization of plant operations through integration of SCADA systems, IoT sensors, and centralized ERP/CMMS platforms.
• Utilize data analytics and predictive maintenance models to monitor plant health, detect anomalies, and reduce unplanned shutdowns.
• Collaborate with IT and data science teams to design dashboards for real-time tracking of KPIs (e.g., clinker factor, kiln performance, fuel usage).

Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance

• Oversee cement plant operations, ensuring compliance with ISO, SON, ASTM, and environmental quality standards.
• Provide expert insight on raw mix design, kiln operation, clinker quality, and chemical optimization.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and enforce SOPs across all production stages.

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting

• Engage with investors, board-level executives, and regulatory agencies on strategic plans, plant audits, and ESG reporting.
• Prepare and deliver technical and financial feasibility reports for greenfield or brownfield projects.
• Advise government or development institutions on large-scale industrial policy and local content development.

ESG & Sustainability Compliance

• Design and monitor sustainability programs, including alternative fuels, CO₂ reduction, and waste co-processing initiatives.
• Conduct lifecycle assessments and environmental risk mapping using geospatial and AI-based tools.
• Ensure adherence to IFC, World Bank, and national environmental and safety guidelines.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8–15 years’ experience in cement production, industrial consulting, or heavy manufacturing project management.
• Prior experience working with Big Four consulting firms or top-tier industrial advisory firms is mandatory.
• Experience in leading multi-site operations and large CAPEX projects is highly valued.

Technical Proficiency

• Strong knowledge of cement manufacturing technologies, plant layout, and machinery (kilns, mills, crushers, preheaters, coolers, etc.).
• Working knowledge of production control software, SCADA, PLCs, and maintenance tools.
• Competence in using ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle), CMMS (Maximo, Infor), and Excel-based or custom data analysis models.
• Familiarity with GIS tools, AutoCAD/Plant3D, or simulation tools is an advantage.

Certifications

• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
• ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 certification preferred.
• Certifications in energy management, industrial automation, or digital manufacturing tools are a plus.
