    Business Analyst

      Job Description

    Business Analyst

    The Business Analyst for the Data Management Office of the Bank is a key player and the main contact between the business persons and technical persons. The Business Analyst needs to have an excellent understanding of the Commercial banking business (“understand what the business does and how it does it”) and its business processes.

    Responsibilities:

    Requirement gathering/analysis/elicitation from stakeholders and business users and document them. Define business objectives and translate them into data analytics needs (Reporting/Dashboarding, Machine learning/AI, etc…)

    Functional specifications

    Training of end users and documentation of the deliveries, as well as on the data platform components and elements

    Interacts with Data Scientists, Data Engineers and BI developers for:

    • acceptance testing/validation, and manage deployments to production as well as handover to production support.
    • defining business objectives
    • specifying machine learning / Reporting / Dashboarding goals o documenting business requirements
    • evaluating modeling results
    • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
    • Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications
    • Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications
    • Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures
    • Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget
    • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions
    • Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
    • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
    • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
    • Conduct and coordinate financial, product, market, operational and related research to support strategic and business planning within the various departments and programs of the client group
    • Interpret, evaluate and interrelate data and develop integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making
    • Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports
    • Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes
    • Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes
    • Create informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement
    • Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues
    • Define and deliver metrics, reporting platforms, dashboards, and analytical models vital for tracking and managing the business
    • Identify business challenges and initiate process improvement projects
    • Facilitate the computerization of analytics and data collection processes
    • Provide analyses for large datasets necessary for decisions using actionable insights
    • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Operations, etc. to build scalable processes and metrics
    • Responsible for carrying out complex analysis of datasets and conduct appropriate data validation
    • Responsible for gathering and cleaning of datasets across multiple data sources
    • Responsible for spotting vital insights and developing the framework of the organization’s data system
    • Provide information on analytic results to business and functional leaders using visualizations to communicate data and metrics, including data maps, leveraging Tableau, etc.
    • Define vital people data performance indicators.

    Requirements:

    • Master's Degree in appropriate field of study with at least 5 years of equivalent work experience in the Retail Banking sector
    • Ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational
    • Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive
    • Ability to work independently and excellent team work spirit
    • Extremely organized with strong time-management skills
    • Familiar with database and BI/Machine Learning/AI concepts.
    • Focus on results and delivery, with a positive and constructive mindset
    • Ability to take direction and execute
    • Familiar with Agile Project Management Methodologies
    • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
