    Quality Manager

    About the Job

    • To ensure the products produced are fit for purpose and meet both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations. Coordinates the activities required to meet quality standards and provide input to ensure that products are competitive in the market. Quality manager also monitors and advise on the performance of the quality management system and produces data and report on performance, measuring against set indicators.

    What you'll be doing

    • OH&S and environment: Guarantee and foster compliance with OH&S and environment policies for all quality personnel. Ensure cleanliness within quality premises and contribute to plant cleanliness
    • Quality lab operations: Plan, organize and manage sampling, measurements and analysis throughout the production process. Ensure calibration and maintenance of equipment is properly done.
    • Quality operations: Carefully analyze quality performance, timely identify any deviation from standards and investigate causes. Collaborate with the Quarry Manager, Production Manager and Process Manager to define corrective and preventive actions.
    • Standards: Ensure that the appropriate quality system is in place and manage it in line with necessary regulations. Prepare and coordinate across departments ISO and NIS certification; ensure correct implementation of the corrective actions identified through audits.
    • People management: Inform and motivate quality personnel, ensure their availability and performance according to plant needs and promote their professional development through coaching, individual development plans and trainings.
    • Management – Planning and cost control: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define product and process requirements. Investigate and propose possible ways to maximize the tradeoff between benefits and costs of the quality system.
    • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Together with the Process Manager and Production Manager, consider and propose new techniques and/or technologies to optimize costs and improve quality. Investigate and validate impact of product, production and process changes onto quality

    What we are looking for

    • A University graduate from any one of the following disciplines: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Material science
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role in any cement manufacturing company; experience in ISO certifications.
    • At least 5 years’ experience as assistant manager in laboratories of industrial companies; experience in ISO certifications.
    • At least 7 years’ experience in laboratories of industrial companies; experience in ISO certifications
    • Statistical knowledge. Knowledge in cement and possibly experience in cement application
    • Assurance
    • Cement manufacturing and application (clinker manufacturing, Cement & Clinker Chemistry, Cement additives, Cement application in Concrete, Process parameters, etc)
    • Data Management and reporting (Microsoft Office, SAP, TIS/LIMS)
    • QC Equipment and methods (CBA/PGNAA, XRF, XRD, Concrete testing, Clinker Microscopy, application-orientated tests)

    Patroller, Ewekoro Plant

    About the Job 

    • Patroller objective is to through a complete working knowledge of the manufacturing equipment and process, serve as the production inspector for the operation. Participate in planned shutdown and running maintenance of all plants safely and efficiently. Starts up equipment, troubleshoots problems and takes corrective actions to maximize the efficient operation of the Plant. Patroller is responsible for the smooth operation and general housekeeping of all production shops.

    What you'll be doing

    • Performs all tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Carry out equipment energy isolation according to LOTOTO procedure
    • Performs field checks and troubleshoot all aspects of raw mill, kiln and finish mill systems in compliance with Company quality standards and requirements.
    • Conduct running and shutdown inspection of all equipment for defects, drift and report such problems to the CCRO for attention and action.
    • Write shift report and complete patroller inspection checklist to indicate solved problems and outstanding issues on the plant.
    • Monitors equipment operation and solves problems throughout the plant as required including process drift, preheater blockage e.t.c
    • Performs first level maintenance activities throughout the plant as required in order to maximize equipment operation and minimize equipment downtime.
    • Coordinates activities of mobile plant operators and other contracted services to assure adequate supply of process-related materials as required.
    • Operates the individual equipments on test mode when such equipments are on maintenance.
    • Assist CCRO in the operation of key equipments in local mode.
    • Assists CCRO in the management of off-spec products.
    • Carry out diaphragm slots cleaning for finish mills on maintenance days.
    • Carry out ball mill media loading according to the process engineer’s recommendations.
    • Carry out test drilling of refractory lining and submit report to the CCRO for analysis.
    • Ensures smooth operation of plant air compressors and pneumatic conveyance systems.
    • Maintains good housekeeping standards in the plant.
    • Attends and contribute to safety toolbox meeting at the beginning of every shift and offer suggestions on safe work methods.
    • Implement Lafarge Safety Rules and Regulation in accordance with the Group HSE Standards and Advisories.
    • Monitors the operations and optimizes all aspects of raw mills, kiln system in compliance with the Company Quality Standards and Requirements.
    • Supervise the activities of the Contractors and Lafarge Third Party Operators through proper implementation of Lafarge Contractor Safety Management Standards (CSM)
    • Monitor Production activities to comply with Group Environmental Standards and maintain good housekeeping at all time.
    • Monitor the loading and off-loading of alternative fuel or other solid fuel in the plant
    • Participate in Plant Turn - Around Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis and other Company Best Practices, Test drilling, Wrecking and Brick Laying Processes.
    • Contribute to maintaining equipment’s in good working condition through effective first level inspection and regularly monitoring of the equipments.
    • Inspect the equipment before and after usage in order to analyze the problem, and liase with Maintenance Department for corrective actions.
    • Carrying out first level inspection on all equipments and recommends steps to improve them.
    • Ensures Safety of Personnel and Equipment
    • Comply with EMS Production Instrumentation activities
    • Ensure involvement in the implementation and maintenance of integrated management system in the plant

    What we are looking for

    • Engineering degree in Mechanical / Electrical engineering 
    • 2- 5 years postgraduate experience.
    • Thorough working knowledge of cement making process, related equipment, and plant layout.
    • Complete familiarity with all material conveyance systems and methods
    • Aptitude for, and demonstrate ability in, wide variety of mechanical and electrical skills
    • Operates specialized equipment such as low gauge guns, power shots
    • Able to operate mobile equipment including Bobcat and forklift
    • Able to perform heavy lifting/physically demanding work for prolonged periods of time
    • Working knowledge of equipment operation procedure.
    • Able to take initiative based on sound problem solving skills
    • Good communication skills for use with co-workers, truck drivers, completing reports, etc

    Regional Security Manager, Sagamu

    • The Security Manager, Sagamu is responsile for providing strategic leadership and driving robust security operations in the Sagamu Plant. The role requires a self-sufficient professional capable of managing complex situations, including crisis response and high-impact decision-making. The Security Manager will support the implementation of security strategies and policies, deliver routine tactical support, and contribute to the wider Security & Resilience Department in safeguarding our people and assets. As a key member of the Sagamu Plant Leadership Team, the role also oversees Transport Services for all staff and light vehicles in the region. Success in this position demands strong vigilance, disciplined planning, clear reporting, and the highest level of integrity. 

    What you'll be doing

    General:

    • Support the deployment of Security & Business Resilience Programs (policy,directives & tools).
    • Support the promotion of Security & Business Resilience culture by identifyingtraining & awareness needs, and ensuring their implementation
    • Raise Security & Business Resilience awareness amongst all staff by organisingperiodic table-top exercises (GLMR as a priority).
    • Manage the security & transport services function in the assigned location(s), whichincludes managing an extensive guard force.
    • Manage the security provider and ensure that all contractual obligations are met.
    • Oversee the management of Public Security Forces personnel & ensure adherenceto the UN Voluntary Principles on Security & Human rights (UNVPSHR) / SecurityServices with integrity

    Security:

    • Manage the security dimension in remote locations in a production Plantenvironment.
    • The Regional Security Manager is part of a security team, which is to be fully managed. This includes:Close supervision of all staff, monitoring & managing performance, application of &adherence to company rules & regulations.
    • Assign & monitor tasks.
    • Familiar with carrying out & recording of ‘Site Security Assessments’ (SSA)
    • Provide feedback that allow to improve department & local team performance,increase efficiency and economize on resources with a focus on cost reduction

    Planning:

    The Regional Security Manager is to write & maintain various existing & future security plans. These are required to keep staff & assets safe with success being based on an excellent understanding of the environment (Ecosystem), in which we operate, and the capabilities of Public Security Forces deployed in support of the Lafarge operations.

    • It is a critical task of the Regional Security Manager to ensure that all security plans are kept current, constantly reviewed and exercised as much as is possible and feasible within the Plant & community setting
    • Event based security planning including convoy planning, vulnerability assessments, and similar
    • Ensure that pertinent plans are uploaded into the Nigeria Security & Resilience Management System (SRMS).

    Transport Services:

    In this capacity the Regional Security Manager ensures all transport missions are carried out with thin the rules & regulations of the business while in parallel ensuring the security & safety of all travellers.

    • Oversee the management of the ‘light vehicle’ fleet throughout the country. This includes all planning & administrative steps before and when committing transport services as requested by the business.

    Human resources (HR):
    General

    • The Regional Security Manager must be familiar with the HR Handbook & the Code of Business Conduct (CoBC) in order to understand all HR-related rules & regulations.
    • The Regional Security Manager is responsible for staff to meet their daily tasks, monthly KPIs & workloads.
    • The Regional Security Manager is to safeguard the highest level of service quality in the to the department’s ‘customers’, application of company rules & regulations and discipline of department staff.
    • Lafarge has adopted the highest level of ethical standards. This includes the treatment of all staff with dignity & respect. The Regional Security Manager is to ensure that these standards are ‘lived’ while preventing any hostilities within the workforce. This is to be implemented beyond ethnic lines and behaviour of members of other departments.

    • The Regional Security Manager is to actively develop capacities of departmental staff. To this end the Regional Security Manager is to identify in which areas individual staff members can improve & excel with increasing experience, structured knowledge acquisition & supervised implementation of security policies to the point that they can reliable take on & successfully manage assigned tasks.

    Working and living conditions

    • The working & living conditions can be challenging. The Regional Security Manager may be required to travel extensively to sites within the southwest region.
    • The Plants are quite remote with very limited access to amenities & recreational facilities.
    • Work requires a 24/7 readiness to manage the security dimension.
    • Work in a gender-diverse team comprised of staff from different ethnicities, religions & nationalities.
    • Criminals and/or terrorists can target the facilities at any time with limited and/or no support from ‘Public Security Forces’ (PSF), and limited or no advance operational intelligence on imminent criminal and/or terrorist attacks.

    What we are looking for
