Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring strong financial governance and compliance, and providing financial analysis to support strategic business decisions. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, cost control, inventory and asset management, profitability analysis, and compliance with industry-specific regulations. The Senior Accountant will report to the General Manager, working closely with management, sales, operations, and services teams to optimize revenue, manage high-value assets/equipment, maintain strong cash flow, and drive overall financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Lead the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, annual, and statutory financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with relevant standards (e.g., GAAP/IFRS). Conduct variance analysis and provide insights for business decisions
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Manage the annual budgeting process, perform financial feasibility analysis and develop long-term financial models for capital-intensive operations
Cost Management and Sales Profitability
- Oversee costing for machinery / spare parts sales, and maintenance services. Ensure accurate cost allocation, price equipment usage
Audits and External Liaison
- Strengthen and coordinate all internal and external audits across procurement, inventory, sales, and finance processes, acting as the primary liaison with auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies
Cash Flow and Treasury Management
- Manage cash flow, including forecasting needs, planning for foreign currency risks, and overseeing daily treasury functions.
ERP & Process Improvement
- Implement process automation of financial modules in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally, etc.). Optimize and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Leadership and Stakeholder Management
- Lead and mentor the finance teams.
- Present financial insights to executive management
Qualifications & Skills:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. MBA or professional certification (ACCA, CPA, ICAN) highly preferred
- 10+ years experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing, with several years in a leadership role, is expected.
- Experience ideally in heavy machinery/equipment, construction, or manufacturing, automotive or industrial sectors is a strong advantage
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, cost accounting, and inventory management
- Expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Proficient in financial analysis tools and software, including ERP systems and MS Office suite (especially Excel and Word)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of integrity and ethical behavior
- Excellent leadership, communication, team management, and decision-making abilities
