Budget and Budgetary Control Officer at LAPO Microfinance Bank Limited

The Budget & Budgetary Control Officer provides support to the budget manager in developing, preparing, monitoring, evaluating and analyzing budget performance for the bank, responsible for budget data collation, validation and to ensure the bank has a relatively achievable annual budget, break down the approved budget into zones/department and units. Working in close coordination with the budget manager. The role also provides support and supervision to other internal budget stakeholders, while monitoring compliance with regulatory Standards and ethical requirements. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1.  Assist in the preparation of the annual budget of the bank.
2. Breakdown the approved budget to zonal/departmental level.
3. Conduct actual financial performance evaluation and analyze the budget variance.
4. Monitor and report on the actual performance of zonal budget.
5. Lead investigations into expenditure head that deviate adversely at the across the zones.
6. Supervise budget variance analysis from the zones.
7. Prepare weekly budget variance for zones.
8. Monitor (CIR) Cost to Income ratio for zones/branches.
9. Carry out any other assigned duties from the Budget Manager or the CFO.
10. Promote ethical behavior, accountability, and continuous improvement.
11. Maintain professional competence through ongoing learning and certifications.
12. Support the departmental initiatives directed by the Chief Finance Officer.
