We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Battery Cleaner to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of batteries powering our material handling equipment.
This role is crucial for maintaining efficient logistics operations by ensuring a reliable power supply for forklifts, pallet jacks, and other essential equipment.
The Battery Cleaner will be responsible for the thorough cleaning, inspection, and basic maintenance of industrial batteries, contributing directly to the safety and productivity of our operations.
Responsibilities
Perform routine cleaning of industrial batteries, removing dirt, dust, corrosion, and other debris from battery casings, terminals, and connectors.
Inspect batteries for any signs of damage, such as cracks, leaks, or loose connections, and report findings to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Apply anti-corrosion treatments to battery terminals and connectors as needed.
Ensure proper ventilation and safety procedures are followed during battery cleaning and maintenance activities.
Maintain accurate records of cleaning and maintenance performed on each battery.
Assist with basic battery maintenance tasks, such as watering batteries according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored.
Adhere to all company safety regulations and procedures, including the proper handling and disposal of cleaning materials and battery-related waste.
Collaborate with maintenance technicians to identify and address battery-related issues.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a cleaning or maintenance role is preferred.
Basic understanding of industrial batteries and their maintenance is a plus.
Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to thoroughness.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and move cleaning equipment and supplies.
