    Base Area Manager (Project/Facility Management)

    Our client is a renowned Civil and Building Engineering Construction Group with Head Office and operations in South-South region of Nigeria.

    The Company is seeking to hire a Base Area Manager that will be responsible for the overall operational management of activities in the base which includes but not limited to the industrial area, residential area, facilities management activities, planning and managing logistics, warehouse, transportation, supporting the project team resource needs. He is responsible to lead the base staff members to perform their respective daily activities ensuring processes are followed under his general supervision.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Industrial/Residential Area Management

    • Provides efficient logistics support from the base to Project sites viable timely deployment of resources
    • Liaising with suppliers, manufacturers on delivery program and equipment hires
    • Manages record of successful distribution and logistics management
    • Manage day to day operations of the industrial and residential area
    • Ensures that the operational base is well organized and resumption of work at all required locations are at the normal times
    • Ensures the base functions are in accordance with the project priorities, making sure materials and equipment’s are timely dispatched liaising with the various sections when necessary.
    • Liaise with the operation manager and planning team to timely schedule and execute all works related to the project.
    • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
    • Reviews material request for the Project within required timeframe for compliance, escalating timely any irregularities and taking into consideration the progress of the project.
    • Ensure adherence to HSE standards
    • Develops maintenance schedule for the industrial and residential facility
    • Develops Weekly/Monthly reports to Operation Manager
    • Conduct weekly/monthly meetings for his direct reports as necessary.

    Facilities Management

    • Develop maintenance strategies for the different classes of assets within the facility, clearly defining which asset’s maintenance will be based on PM, PDM and CM strategy.
    • Prepare quality metrics for the service providers’ performance evaluation and where required, review the quality metrics issued by the client for inclusion in SLAs.
    • Prepare emergency preparedness and business continuity plan for the industrial, residential facility.
    • Monitors compliance of the facility systems with requirement of regulatory bodies, this includes renewal of fire certificate among others.
    • Prepare a 30-year lifecycle plan for the facility including all statutory tests, inspections, repairs, replacement and upgrade works based on the information obtained from the asset register and the OEM documentations.
    • Monitors facility’s inventory and ensures that critical spare parts are always available.
    • Lead the project management team for any new development approved by the client within the facility.
    • Manage facility through international standards and codes of practices in the day-to-day operations of the facility.
    • Prepares and utilize a communication plan, ensuring that the client is always informed of any disruption to its business operations through already established channels like emails, notice board etc.
    • Trend analysis to determine the facility performance based on energy management and to be able to forecast and advise the client on future facility needs.
    • Prepare the resources requirement for the facility management team based on approved organizational structure.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is a must.
    • Minimum HSE level 3, basic fire-fighting certificate, first aid training certificate required.
    • 15+ years’ work experience in Project Management with site construction experience (such as batching concrete, blocks, storage, working with workshop) to support the company’s projects including the Facilities Management, Site/Projects and Industrial/Residential yard activities
    • MEP experience is an added advantage
    • Working knowledge of CAFM, CMMS, BAS and BIM softwares will be an advantage.
    • Knowledge of Project Management as well as basic accounting and finance principles.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Language.
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
    • Good analytical/critical thinking
    • Good leadership and management skills within a wide range of people and cultures
    • Computer proficiency

    Benefits
    Base Pay is BWT $3000 to $4000 monthly + other benefits.
