    Associate Buyer

    Responsibilities

    • Driving procurement processes according to set requirements and budget
    • Assisting stakeholders with the selection of the right product mix.
    • Writing, placing, and tracking purchase orders.
    • Ensuring products are purchased at the right time, to specification, and at a good price.
    • Negotiating with vendors and building positive, long-term relationships.
    • Researching new suppliers and making recommendations to stakeholders.
    • Planning, monitoring and maintaining suitable inventory levels.
    • Preparing budgets and forecasting purchasing trends.
    • Keeping internal stakeholders informed of procurement activities and progress through collaborative working and proactive communication
    • Work independently with minimum supervision, conferring with supervisor(s) as needed
    • Maintain and manage vendor database and ensure the accuracy of supplier classifications
    • Contact suppliers to ensure that all purchase orders are received and deliveries are shipped on time;
    • Maintain constant contact with vendors and shipping companies while deliveries are in route;
    • Notify supply chain and operators teams in a timely manner if a critical delivery is going to be late;
    • Deliver all purchase orders to vendors either by phone, overnight mail or email;
    • The resource is responsible for procuring food, beverages, and other logistics requirements of the lounge
    • Evaluating vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers;
    • Work with vendors to solve invoicing issues that could delay critical shipments;
    • Responsible for tracking competition, execution, credit memo follow-up from vendors;
    • Follow up on grand opening related category activities (e.g., purchase order management).

    Requirements

    • Degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
    • Previous experience in the merchandising or retail industry is a plus.
    • Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) applications;
    • Must possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, adapt, negotiate and manage a project(s).;
    • Strong Communication with all levels of management and peers, both internally and externally.
