Accountant at a Certified Oil and Gas Service Company

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with proven experience in SAGE Accounting software and tax management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting the financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain financial records using SAGE Accounting software.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets.
• Handle tax matters, including VAT, PAYE, WHT, CIT, and other regulatory filings.
• Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and tax
• regulations.
• Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Assist in audits and liaise with external auditors and tax authorities.
• Manage payroll calculations and statutory deductions.
• Monitor cash flow, banking transactions, and reconciliations.
• Support process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and reporting.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting roles.
• Proficiency in SAGE Accounting software is mandatory.
• Proficiency in using Google Drive
• Strong knowledge of tax laws and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the Oil & Gas or Energy sector is an advantage.
• Familiarity with (IFRS) and Nigerian tax laws.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
