Account Officer at Straight-Gate Publishers Limited

Job Duties 

• Ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial processes and documents with relevant laws and regulations.
• Prepare and maintain key financial reports, including debtor and creditor accounts (vendors).
• Post payment vouchers for all expenditures in a timely manner.
• Accurately determine direct costs, including materials (e.g., paper, ink), labor (e.g., printing, binding), and overhead (e.g., utilities, equipment depreciation).
• Analyze transactions of Sales Representatives and Agents weekly to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Assist in tax filings and VAT, ensuring timely and accurate payment of taxes.
• Evaluate financial operations, identify areas for improvement, and recommend best practices to enhance efficiency and performance.
• Provide recommendations on cost-reduction strategies, revenue enhancement, and profit maximization.
• Conduct forecasting and risk analysis to assess potential financial challenges.
• Perform daily account reconciliations to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
• Assist in preparing the company’s annual budget, aligning it with strategic goals.
• Support the collection process by following up on receivables from customers.
• Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualification

• BSc. Or HND in Financial Accounting or Accountancy or in any related courses.
• Professional Qualification is an added advantage.
• Minimum Experience; 2 years

Salary

• 100,000-120,000 monthly (Depending on Experience)
