    Account Officer

    Role Summary:

    The Account Officer plays a crucial role in managing financial transactions, overseeing accounts, and providing exceptional service to both the company and its clients.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
    • Record and process transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Prepare and reconcile bank statements and financial reports.
    • Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, responding to their inquiries.
    • Generate and issue invoices to customers for products or services rendered.
    • Ensure timely and accurate billing processes to facilitate prompt payments.
    • Prepare financial reports, statements, and summaries for management review.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
    • Ensure timely monthly remittance and returns to the relevant tax authorities in respect of withholding tax, VAT, PAYE tax and other statutory payments for the company.
    • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
    • Track expenses and recommend cost-saving measures.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
    • Collaborate with auditors during financial audits.
    • Work closely with other departments to ensure financial data accuracy and proper coordination.
    • Any other duties assigned to you by your supervisor/management.

    Accountabilities:

    • Monthly trial balance
    • Budget
    • Financial statements
    • Bank Reconciliation Statements
    • Evidence of PAYE Tax, WHT and VAT remittance and returns monthly.
    • Updated soft copy file of developments in highlighting tax additions quarterly.

    Requirements:

    • First Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Must be in proximity to Victoria Island, Lagos.
    • Proven experience as an Account Officer or in a similar financial role.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficient in financial software and MS Office Suite.
    • Experience in tax practice and small business accounting

    Salary:

    • N100,000 to N150,000 Monthly Gross
