| The Migration Specialist will assist clients in leveraging IBM DB2 technology, through technical workshops, proofs-of-concept, solution architecture/validations, advice on best practices, conversion assistance, conversion assessments/estimates, performance benchmarks/reviews and onsite services engagements. Individual must have strong client-facing expertise and possess deep technical hands-on skills and experience with at least one of the following database technologies: DB2, Oracle, Sybase or Microsoft SQL Server. Should have DB2 and Oracle certifications. Must understand client needs and create, implement and execute upon a conversion/migration plan to address them. It is essential to have excellent communication and presentation skills given customer facing nature of job. Must be able to harvest best practices by documenting methods and techniques used to assist clients, and sharing gained knowledge with their team. Lab Services/Global Business Services experience is highly desirable. Ideal candidate will have project experience with multiple software architectures and development environments Understanding of DB application development process and technologies – including PL/SQL, Java, C++, PHP At least 2 years experience in Relational Database installation, usage, and management working as a DBA-Database Administration or database application developer. |
