    Finance Associates

    Duties and Responsibilities
    Specific functions shall include but not limited to the following:

    •     Analyze expenditure by amount paying particular attention to expenditure of $5,000 and above;
    •     Review all DGD vouchers/APJVs captured in the project for 2014;
    •     Review all General Ledger Entries (GLJE) in the project for 2014;
    •     Review all Account Receivable for deposits into the project for 2014;
    •     Ascertain that for all vouchers,  journals, account receivables and billings reflected in the project for 2014,  physical documents are available and properly filed;
    •     Ascertain appropriateness or otherwise of all support documents;
    •     Produce a report immediately before the commencement of the audit any improper documentation identified to enable the office take action;
    •     For the purpose of the envisage project audit, open new files for all DGD vouchers/journals etc and ensure that they are properly labeled so as to ensure easy accessibility and retrieval;
    •     At the end of the audit, ensure that all vouchers are returned back to the master files;
    •     Assist in the  inventory stock take at DGD;
    •     Provide finance support for Northern Activities eg by Ministry of Women Affairs;
    •     Review partners financial reports and follow up on outstanding issues;
    •     Undertake regular spot checks on Workshops participants’ payments and report findings;
    •     Review, analyze and reconcile participants lists against payment lists submitted to the bank; reporting findings and variances;
    •     Ensure checks and balances surrounding the payments of workshop allowances are adhered to;
    •     Assist in any other duties relating to the DGD Office.

    Required Skills and Experience
    Education:

    •     Secondary Education with specialized certification in Accounting and Finance;
    •     University Degree in Business or Public Administration would be desirable, but it is not a requirement.

    Experience:

    •     At least 2 years of progressively responsible finance experience is required at the national level;
    •     Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and advance knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web based management systems (1 to 2 years progressive experience in the usage of ATLAS (Finance Application Access Module) is an added advantage);
    •     Applications supported with updated Curriculum Vitae.

    Language:

    •     Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
