Legal Officer at Phase3 Telecom

Details:

Duties and responsibilities;

• Establish and maintain close working relationships with internal and external contacts on contract and commercial matters.
•  Draft, vet and implement company Contracts
• Interface as may be designated with regulatory agencies, government and Authorities
• Advising internal management and stakeholders on the implementation of compliance programs
• Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously
•  Revise procedures, reports etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Legal department and HR departments to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations
• Assess the business’s future ventures to identify possible compliance risks
• Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control
• Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as may be required
•  Following up on compliance issues that require investigation
•  Any other relevant duties as directed by supervisor or HOD

Requirements;

• Minimum of first degree in law with a minimum of Second Class Upper division at the University and Law School
• Masters degree in a related field and or an MBA is an added advantage.
• 3--5 years proven experience as a Legal Officer and/or Compliance Officer or Risk Manager
