    Creative Hub Business Manager

    Main purpose of Job

    Under the supervision of the General Manager and with operational reporting accountability to the Head of Business Affairs & Operations, you will primarily be responsible for the successful management of the studios i.e. Sound stage, Recording studio, Rehearsal studio and the Photo studio. We are seeking a Creative Hub Business Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a recording studio, schedule artistes for recording. Other job duties include overseeing marketing and advertising, designing budgets and acting as the link between clients and the engineers. However, the general requirements of the job are to be able to supervise a staff and oversee the daily operations of the studio.

    To achieve the first priority of managing staff and overseeing the daily activities of the studio. The Creative Hub Business Manager must be able to manage people and time to ensure that they meet the expectations of their clients or audience and attract new business to the recording studio.

    Main responsibilities including but not limited to

    • Responsible for bookings, marketing and meeting monthly sales target for the Sound stage, Recording studio, Rehearsal studio and the Photo studio.
    • Event planning, design and production within time limits.
    • Working with clients to identify their needs and ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Organizing facilities and details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material etc.
    • Conduct market research, gather information and negotiate contracts prior to closing any deals
    • Provide feedback and periodic reports to stakeholders
    • Propose ideas to improve provided services and event quality
    • Organize facilities and manage all event’s details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material etc
    • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations
    • Specify staff requirements and coordinate their activities
    • Cooperate with marketing and PR to promote and publicize event
    • Proactively handle arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day
    • Conduct pre- and post – event evaluations and report on outcomes
    • Develop effective working relationships with partners through market research, regular meeting, identify and obtain further sales, business development opportunities and partnerships
    • Oversee and manage set-up/installation, inventory, upkeep of studio equipment, software, technology, and hardware
    • Responsible for identifying out-of-date or difficult to use systems - and recommend solutions
    • Provide in-house support for production as needed
    • Planning and monitoring projects administration.
    • Managing project risks, including the development of contingency plans.
    • Execute projects to be high quality, on time and cost-effective/on budget
    • Manage and help to create marketing content to create awareness and strategies with the aim of driving online traffic to the studio
    • Assist with onboarding of new employees, freelancers and interns.

    Knowledge/ Education

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field or 3+ years experience of relevant work.
    • Experience working alongside Executive music producers.

    Skills/Experience

    • Experience in a project management, operations, admin assistant role.
    • Proven experience as an events planner or organizer along with an impressive portfolio of previously managed events
    • Excellent time management and communication skills
    • Sales skills and ability to build productive business relationships and partnerships
    • Ability to manage multiple projects independently
    • Thorough knowledge of recording engineering, digital audio technology, electronic music technology, computers, video systems, networks, and the relevance of these technologies to related media.
    • Fundamental technical skills in the area of basic studio electronics.
    • Superior communication skills, both internal and client-facing.
    • Strong relationship management, organizational and project management skills.
    •  Ability to work effectively with a variety of internal teams and business groups, including Creative, Media and Technical Delivery Specialists.
    • Ability to identify opportunities for growth and incremental opportunities
    • with client partners.
    • A strong desire to mentor a team.
    • Have strong leadership skills.
    • Active in the Nigeria sound engineering ecosystem, have good, well established and relevant entertainment industry relationships

    Accounting skills

    • Flexibility and adaptability skills
    • Should be proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel and invoicing software.

    Personality/ Character

    • Have a vibrant personality and exceptional communication skills (English, verbal and written).
    • Highly organised with ability to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
    • Have excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Have the ability to build rapport and communicate with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
    • Must have a passion for media, music and entertainment and how technology can be leveraged to add value to these industries
