Regional Purchasing Manager (FMCG) - Accra at eRecruiter Nigeria

Location   Accra  Ghana

The ideal candidate will:

• Coordinate and carry out the search for suppliers of raw materials, packs or packaging etc. for Africa region, as well as negotiating with them the supply conditions, in agreement with the company policies and the guidelines of the Regional Purchasing and Logistics Manager, with the purpose of guaranteeing supply to the plants in the optimum conditions of time, quality and cost.
•  To analyse and select  the offers of different suppliers, as well as completing negotiations with these, with the objective of ensuring supply in the best conditions of price, quality and service.
• Supervise the approval or rejection of suppliers with the objective of ensuring the implementation of established quality standards.
• Direct and supervise the departmental payment process, with the objective of adjusting it to the agreed conditions with each supplier

Requirements

• To carry out the search at national and international level for suppliers (tomato, mayo, others), to generate alternatives to the present that will improve costs or quality.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as purchasing manager or purchasing technician, preferably in the food/pharmaceutical sector.
• English proficiency, French desirable.
• SAP knowledge.
• To analyse and propose the best supply policy for each production centre, participating in their pursuit and establish improvement measures to ensure approval of the process.
• Supplier tracking (lead times, payment terms, complaints).
• Negotiate and supervise the payment conditions for the suppliers to guarantee that they are in line with the company objectives.
• Specific operations project support and SAP specific activities.
