    HR Intern

    Job Functions: Civil Engineering and Construction, Building Technology and Engineering Designs.

    Responsibilities

    • Reporting to the HR Operations/Admin Manager, you will provide support in all human resource functions.
    • You will provide support to supervisors and staff
    • You will provide advice and assistance when conducting staff performance evaluations and identify training and development opportunities.
    • The role involves development and implementation of strategies and policies and will include key responsibilities such as:
      • Assist in the recruitment process and hiring of all employees
      • Participate in the preparation of all Human Resources activities
      • Maintain an up to date database for resume’s for future facilitation of recruitment needs
      • Assist in induction/orientation program for all newly joined employees as per the hotel standards
      • Receive employee complaints, suggestions and queries and make sure they have been handled properly
      • Maintain an up to date computerised database of all employees, clients and vendors
      • Assist the HR Operations/Admin Manager in the preparation of periodic reports as required
      • Coordinate with all departments with regard to Human Resources related activities
      • Maintain files and other information under strict confidentiality

    Farm Supervisor

    Job Description

    • Direct and coordinate, through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities of workers engaged in agricultural crop production for corporations, cooperatives, or other owners.
    • Assigns duties, such as tilling soil, planting, irrigating, storing crops, and maintaining machines, and assigns fields or rows to workers.

    Duties

    • Determines number and kind of workers needed to perform required work, and schedules activities.
    • Trains workers in methods of field work and safety regulations, and briefs them on identifying characteristic of insects and diseases.
    • Contracts with seasonal workers and farmers to provide employment, and arranges for transportation, equipment, and living quarters.
    • Recruits, hires, and discharges workers.
    • Inspects crops and fields to determine maturity, yield, infestation, or work requirements, such as cultivating, spraying, weeding, or harvesting.
    • Planning and implementing budgets and production targets
    • Monitoring the quality of the produce and performance of the sections including health and welfare
    • Keeping up to date and accurate records
    • Ensuring the farm is compliant with various legal guidelines and working to minimise the environmental impact of the business, for instance via waste disposal
    • Helping with product marketing and selling to a variety of customers
    • Negotiating with suppliers and buyers
    • Managing any farm diversification activities
    • Determines number and kind of workers needed to perform required work, and schedules activities.
    • Observes workers to detect inefficient and unsafe work procedures or identify problems, and initiates actions to correct improper procedure or solve problem.
    • Issues farm implements and machinery, ladders, or containers to workers and collects them at end of workday.
    • Investigates grievances and settles disputes to maintain harmony among workers.
    • Requisitions and purchases farm supplies, such as insecticides, machine parts or lubricants, and tools.
    • Directs or assists in adjustment, repair, and maintenance of farm machinery and equipment.

    Experience and Skills Requirements

    • Candidate must possess OND/HND or equivalent qualification in Agriculture or Natural Sciences with a minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in practical farming and technical knowledge.
    • Candidate must be committed, willing and able to live and work on the farm.
    • Experience in Crop production and Horticulture (in Greenhouses and open field), as well as good understanding of pest management, will be added advantage.
    • Candidate must be able to work under pressure with little supervision
    • Skilled in planning, budgeting and bookkeeping, report and presentation
    • Understands farm economics.
