    Livelihoods and Food Security Coordinator (Agriculture)

    Location: Maiduguri, Borno

    Job Description

    • Contribute to Core Competency strategy development, project proposals and provide input on needs and gaps
    • Manage and implement the agriculture component of the EU funded project (activities, budget and project documentation) as delegated from Project Manager in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements and ensure high technical quality
    • Liaison with Ministry of RRR, BOSADP and FADAMA in planning, design, development and farming input support schemes and linking it with the rehabilitation of smallholder irrigation schemes in Borno state.
    • Carry out needs assessments to select the most vulnerable families to be targeted for agricultural support
    • Assist the Project Manager in designing agricultural input support schemes and delivery modalities taking into consideration seasonality, farmer preferences, market needs and environmental considerations
    • Responsible for coordination with all key stakeholders (particularly FAO) to avoid overlaps.

    Qualifications

    • B.Sc. Agronomy, Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Crop Science
    • Experience working as an Agricultural Extension Agent
    • Experience from working on livelihoods and food security project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context

    WASH Assistant

    Job description

    • Coordinate the Hygiene promotion (HP) and community mobilization (CM) activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets and plans
    • Assist the WASH Officer manage in all aspects of Hygiene promotion and community mobilization programs planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
    • To assist in the identification of communities/IDPs Hygiene promotion needs
    • To assess the Hygiene promotion and community mobilization needs of the communities/IDPs and assists in the development of appropriate training materials and plans

    Qualifications

    • University Degree in Law from a recognized Nigerian University, and a thorough knowledge of Nigerian law;
    • Work experience in the field of law (e.g. courts, attorney or legal aid agencies), preferably experience in working with clients;
    • Valid membership to the Nigerian Bar Association
    • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts

    Livelihood and Food Security Coordinator (Irrigation)

    Location: Maiduguri, Borno

    Job Description

    • Line management of Livelihoods & Food Security (Irrigation) Officers and Technical Assistants
    • Contribute to Core Competency strategy development, project proposals and provide input on needs and gaps
    • Manage and implement the Irrigation component of the EU funded project (activities, budget and project documentation) as delegated from Project Manager in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements, and ensure high technical quality
    • Supervision of feasibility investigations for smallholder irrigation projects
    • Supervision of production of preliminary designs for irrigation schemes
    • Research and development of irrigation plant and equipment
    • Standards/Specification and quality assurance of irrigation equipment
    • Plan maintenance of electrical installations and equipment on irrigation schemes

    Qualifications

    • B.Sc. in Civil, Agricultural, Irrigation Engineering with major in Water and Irrigation or equivalent
    • Work experience from the Northeast of Nigeria
    • Solid experience and minimum 5 years work experience working as Irrigation Engineer developing or rehabilitation of small holder irrigation schemes
    • Experience from working on livelihoods and food security project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context
    • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
    • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
    • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
    • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
    • Ability to speak fluent Kanuri and Hausa languages
    • Education field: Engineering sciences & technology, Social science
    • Education title: B.Sc. in Civil, Agricultural, Irrigation Engineering with major in Water and Irrigation or equivalent
    • Education level: College / University, Bachelor's degree, College / University, Bachelor's degree
