    Marketing and Outreach Associate

    About the Marketing and Outreach Associate Role
    The purpose of this position is to plan, coordinate, and direct strategies and activities that optimize recruitment by attracting new applicants to Andela’s Fellowship Program. This is accomplished by providing essential information about Andela as it relates to recruitment.; making vital information available to partners and recruitment pipelines through recruitment content marketing and outreach.

    This is a critical role at Andela as the success of our program depends on the quality of developers that we admit into the program. He/she would report to the Community Manager, Technical Talent and work with the Talent Operations Associate and Talent Sourcing Analyst to set the country recruitment team’s objectives, set priorities, and execute on a well laid out plan.

    Responsibilities

    Outreach

    • Work with Community Manager, Technical Talent to develop outreach and marketing plan to recruit new fellows in line with the organizational objectives.
    • Assist implementing annual outreach and recruitment plan.
    • Organizing or attending events that would drive the awareness of Andela’s programs.
    • Attend relevant community meetings, conferences and round tables.

    Marketing

    • Create and maintain Digital Talent Marketing Calendar; update as campaign elements shift and add new information as it becomes available
    • Coordinate the creation of Talent digital content (e.g. website, blogs, press releases and podcasts)
    • Monitor return on investment and key performance indicators of all digital channels

    Strategic Planning
    Develop and implement direct marketing methods to increase successful application rates
    Stay up-to-date with digital media developments and research Social Media Recruiting trends to offer best practices on how to utilize social sites as candidate networking tools.

    Reports

    • Create and generate standard quarterly and year-end reports as well as ad-hoc reports to inform operational and workforce optimization decisions by managers and senior leadership
    • Maintain up to date knowledge of recruiting trends and issues, labour laws and government regulations that have short and long term implications.

    Qualifications and competencies

    • Bachelor’s Degree is an added advantage.
    • At least 1-2 years experience in a similar position.
    • Knowledgeable of the tech ecosystem in Nigeria.
    • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
    • Ability to connect with others and forge strong relationships.
    • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently.
    • Excellent analytical skills.
    • Ability to organize and maintain detailed records and meet deadlines.
    • Must be able to work under pressure meeting deadlines and changing priorities.
    • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
    • Willingness to travel.

    Communication Manager

    Responsibilities:

    Your typical day-to-day would involve:

    • Leading the Andela Lagos Marketing & Communications team in planning and executing a number of strategic initiatives across PR, field marketing and digital marketing to bolster Andela’s presence in Nigeria
    • Owning all Lagos press relationships, working closely with Lagos leadership and the global Andela Marketing organization to secure high-quality media coverage
    • Building a scalable marketing program across digital and in-person touch-points, designed to significantly bolster the number of applications to Andela’s developer program
    • Supporting the Nigeria Country Director in driving engagement among the Andela employee base through a variety of employee communications initiatives
    • Serving as the Nigeria liaison to the global Andela Marketing organization, ensuring all Lagos marketing initiatives are aligned with the company’s core messaging and brand identity

    Qualifications:

    Ideal candidates for this role will have:

    • 5 years minimum experience in marketing/public relations, preferably with experience in the technology sector
    • Strong existing relationships with, and extensive network of key business and technology-focused press contacts
    • Excellent written & verbal communication
    • Creative and critical thinking skills with an ability to fluidly craft narratives
    • Deep understanding of social media platforms and effective marketing strategies/techniques

    Brand and Design Coordinator

    PURPOSE
    The Brand and Design (BAD) role is primarily one that seeks to create and manage the Appearance and Image of Andela in Lagos and across Africa. Every activity should reflect a drive towards making Andela focused, memorable, meaningful and valuable enough to cause emotion and, ultimately action and it is the BADC’s responsibility to make sure this is consistent through all the operations that occur in Lagos, Nairobi and New York.

    OVERVIEW & OBJECTIVE

    • Reinforce Andela’s brand in the US and Africa through the creation of engaging digital and print assets.
    • Support demand generation efforts that increase engagement and the speed of trust transfer to our audience such as working on Case studies, creating design items that would support Marketing efforts.
    • Collaborate with Andela’s Brand, Marketing and other teams, to support projects across multiple departments including lead generation, brand, recruitment and other in-country operations.
    • Develop, implement and execute marketing initiatives and activities for the Andela brand. These initiatives and activities include campaigns (print, web, social media, broadcast, etc.), events, corporate responsibility programs, partnerships and sponsorships.
    • Consistently innovate on ideas to improve office happiness from a point of workspace beautification and initiatives.

    QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

    • Strong communication skills
    • The ability to meet deadlines and manage expectations in a high-pressure environment
    • The ability to see projects through from inception to delivery
    • Consistency regardless of project size
    • Solid organizational skills to support the rest of the team
    • The willingness to listen to feedback and use it to continually improve
    • An understanding of layout, typography, color theory and user experience design
    • Experience with:Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Keynote, HTML, CSS & JavaScript a plus

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Generating ideas for new packaging designs, including shape, size, colours, fonts and imagery
    • Overseeing the visual production of adverts and publications, direct mail packs, email campaigns, websites, exhibition stands, road shows and liaising with media buyers and printers.
    • Checking, reviewing and generating marketing brand copy for communications in Lagos and Nairobi.
    • Supervising the sign off of marketing literature and campaigns, liaising with legal and compliance personnel, ensuring the designs and messages meet the company brand guidelines
    • Produce attractive and effective designs across all media.
    • Organize and manage all incoming asset requests.
    • Support asset creation for lead generation efforts.
    • Support Brand Director on completion of design projects.
    • Consistently offer input to creative meetings and share ideas.
    • Communicate with senior team members and integrate feedback.
    • Effectively scope projects with other team members.
    • Ensure 100% brand consistency across work output.
    • Support the team throughout execution of campaigns and projects.
