    Site Engineer

    Description:
    Job Description
    The site engineer will coordinate the planning, directing, coordinating activities concerned with the construction and pavement of projects. Participates in the conceptual development of a construction & Real Estate project of the company and oversee its organization, scheduling and implementation

    Responsibilities
    Design & Coordination

    • Preparing the site and liaising with other construction & engineering professionals before construction work starts
    • Designing the programme of work and strategy for making the project happen
    • Planning ahead to prevent problems on site before they occur, for example the procurement strategy, planning the delivery and storage of equipment and materials

    Project Construction Management

    • Making safety inspections of the site when work is underway and ensuring regulations relating to health, safety and the environment (HSE) are adherred to.
    • Overseeing the running of several projects
    • Using construction management software packages to plan smooth work flows
    • Communicating with a range of people including the client, subcontractors, suppliers, the public and the workforce
    • Daily email checks for correspondence from many stakeholders
    • Making daily tasks lists and delegating responsibility
    • Undertaking site checks to monitor progress

    Construction Control Management

    • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
    • Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field.
    • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status.
    • Assign responsibilities, mentor project team, leading on regular team meetings.
    • Review engineering deliverable and initiate appropriate corrective actions.

    Handover Management

    • As part of the handover procedure, ensure the operation and maintenance manual (O&M manual), contains the information required for the operation, maintenance of a building such as the ‘As built drawings and Specifications, commissioning and testing results etc.
    • Snags, Retention and Practical Completion

    Required Qualifications:

    • Must have a B.Eng/B.Tech or HND in Civil Engineering OR Building Technology
    • Highly organized with strong analytical skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with level external and internal clients
    • Organizational skills with the ability to identify and manage priorities
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Detail oriented
    • Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently
    • Proficiency with Engineering Design Skills & Microsoft Office Suite
