    Finance Manager

    Job description

    Position Overview:

    We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly driven individual to join our Finance team in a new role as “Finance Manager” and “Accountant”. In this role, you will be responsible for delivery of financial reporting, finance strategy and profit improvement initiatives, forecasting and planning for the business, analytics insight – to provide transparency in performance and support prime decision making to drive profitability and utmost value.

    Reporting to the Managing Director, the role will have interaction with a range of Senior stakeholders and will be based in Travelfix.CO Head Office based in Abuja.

    Key Responsibilities (Finance Manager)

    • Develop and support monthly business reviews and reports covering financial and non-financial metrics.
    • Providing robust review and challenge of forecast and assumptions, provide insight into sources of change and forecast variance and use this to guide improvements to the forecasting and planning processes.
    • Developing and enhancing key inputs into forecast cycle and understanding potential financial impact on forecast.
    • Managing the company’s financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems. Influence decision-making to ensure business partners meet the financial objectives of the organization.
    • Identifying and measuring key performance metrics and trends in order to provide business insights and guidance on results and strategic objectives.
    • Developing financial management mechanisms Engaging the relevant stakeholders to ensure marketing spend efficiency targets are understood, agreed and approached with a consistent methodology and appropriately communicated through the business.
    • Facilitate alignment between the different teams and Finance within the planning timetable, allowing timely review of assumptions & ensuring that key targets are met.
    • Provision and Interpretation of Financial Information, monitoring cash flows and predicting future trends
    • Formulating strategic and long-term business plans, researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance
    • Analyzing competitors and market trend; developing external relationships with appropriate contacts such as auditors, bankers, solicitors and statutory organization.

    Skills/Experience – Finance Manager

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 5+ years’ experience in a similar or finance related role.
    • Budgeting, forecasting and expense analysis experience
    • Advanced experience with Excel, Oracle and Business Objects experience a plus
    • Experience in a travel, e-commerce and financial operations organization.
    • Experience in a business finance position in a fast paced environment
    • Proven experience in providing analysis and insights in an entrepreneurial environment.
    • Good written and oral communication and influencing skills
    • Self-starter and results orientated, able to work under minimal guidance and manage conflicting tasks

    Key Responsibilities (Accountant)

    • Responsible for financial accounting and bookkeeping of the company system. 
    • Preparation of monthly management, Weekly and Monthly reporting. Daily/monthly bookkeeping entries in accounting software program and preparation of Trial Balances, Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash-flow Statements.
    • Reconciling of accounts and payments – Bank, EFT and cash, 3rd party suppliers, Refunds and Commissions, and BSP Billing. Ability to spot errors and inconsistencies that may occur.
    • Proven Experience with BSP. A knowledge of GDS is essential.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Spreadsheet application.
    • Cash Management, Relationship management with bankers, auditors and others.
    • Quick to spot errors and discrepancies, identify problems and even anticipate where trouble may potentially occur.

    Skills/Experience – Accountant

    • Relevant accounting qualification, Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA preferred)
    • At least 2 – 3 years’ experience in Accounting and BSP Management
    • Proven experience with Accounting software
    • Good written and oral communication and influencing skills
    • Self-starter and results orientated, able to work under little or no guidance.

    General Manager

    We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly driven individual in a new role as DYNAMIC “General Manager”. This role is for managers who wants to take their career to the next level! In this role, you will be responsible for building, leading and inspiring a Travelfix.CO team of around 60 employees to achieve greater things.

    You will be responsible for implementing internal business initiatives, improving process efficiencies in addition to developing and sustaining strong relationships in the travel industry. The core focus of this position is driving key activities of Travelfix.CO overall operations to support the company’s revenue goals and strategic objectives. You will be responsible for daily management of the team by managing broad regional responsibilities.

    Reporting to the Managing Director, the role will have interaction with a range of Senior stakeholders and will be based in Travelfix.CO Head Office based in Abuja.

    Responsibilities

    • Overseeing overall operations at Travelfix.CO, providing clear direction and guidelines of operation; and setting positive example for attitude, professionalism and work ethic.
    • Enhance the relationship with third party suppliers, building and maintaining relationships with key clientele, developing and implementing the sales and marketing plan
    • Creating an environment of accountability, controlling costs, managing budgets and developing the team.
    • Managing, motivating and training key team members.  
    • Building relationships with key stakeholders and able to communicate at senior level.
    • Maintain strong communication with Travelfix.CO branch offices, teams, vendors and suppliers.
    • The ability to recruit staff and monitor performance. Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels, including people-management, leadership and both written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ensure compliance with Travelfix.CO operating standards and procedures.
    • Experience in client relationship management, setting standards appropriate to affiliates, agents, clients and scope of work.
    • Implements and monitors KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for team.
    • Coordinates and leads business reviews with company representatives for each reporting operation

    Skills & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, MBA (or equivalent advanced degree) required. Airline, OTA, GDS experience strongly preferred 
    • Proven experience in developing business strategies and business development opportunities and delivering business results.
    • 7-10 years’ experience in the travel industry, OTA, Airline or travel technology suppliers, of which at least 3 years as a General Manager.
    • Should have current contacts across all airlines and travel suppliers.
    • Directly managed a team of more than 50 employees.
    • Proven sales and marketing abilities
    • Customer service skills; and organizational and planning skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and executing strategy to grow Travelfix.CO business locally, regionally and globally. You will be responsible for developing partnerships and ultimately leading a team to build lasting commercial relationships as well as develop new business ideas in travel and non-travel sector.  You will be responsible for building market position by discovering and defining, developing, outlining, negotiating and closing business deals and relationships.

    Reporting to the Managing Director, the role will have interaction with a range of Senior stakeholders and will be based in Travelfix.CO Head Office based in Abuja.

    Responsibilities – Business Development Manager

    • Provides strategic analysis, develop and execute business strategies and transformation
    • Provides evaluation of identified strategic options and business opportunities.
    • Drives the development and execution of strategic business initiatives effectively.
    • Monitors the business impacts of initiatives, developing an in-depth knowledge of processes, products and markets, building strong relationships with applicable regional leadership teams.
    • Propose and locate potential business deals by contacting potential partners, discovering and exploring opportunities.
    • Identifies leading ideas by researching travel industry and similar or related events; hunting down distinct contributors, suppliers and partners and their accomplishments.
    • Assesses probable business deals by analyzing market strategies, potential and financials and endorsing equity investments.
    • Develops negotiating strategies; examining risks and potentials; estimating company’s needs and goals.
    • Closes new business deals by matching requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business strategies and operations.

    Skills & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree and MBA (or equivalent advanced degree) required.  
      Airline, OTA, GDS experience and a deep experience in the travel industry strongly preferred.
    • Proven experience in developing business strategies and business development opportunities and delivering business results.
    • Advanced level competencies – problem solving skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, excellent project management skills, result-oriented appetite for business execution.
    • Excellent Analytical and statistics skills including data and financial analysis, quantitative and qualitative research.
      • Working Knowledge of various data analysis and reporting tools.
