    Legal Officer - NYSC

    About the role

    We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented young Lawyer undergoing the compulsory National Youth Service Corps to join our growing legal team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a recent law graduate to gain practical experience in a fast-paced Fin-Tech environment. The Lawyer will provide support to the legal team in various aspects of legal operations, research, and documentation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices, particularly within the fintech space (e.g., dispute resolution and litigation).
    • Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including affidavit to show cause in response to garnishee proceedings.
    • Support the development and implementation of legal training programs to ensure general, company-wide adherence to relevant laws and regulations guiding fintechs in Nigeria.
    • Maintain and organize legal records and documentation, both physical and electronic.
    • Collaborate with other departments within the company to provide legal support and guidance.
    • Prepare and compile minutes of meeting on legal or company matters as may be required from time to time.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Team Lead, Dispute Resolution

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree and BL
    • Currently serving in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
    • Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Demonstrated interest in the Financial Technology space and the FinTech industry
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Human Resources Business Partner - Kano

    We are looking to recruit an experienced Human Resources Business Partner who is an employee champion and culture builder. The ideal candidate would be responsible for supporting specific functions within the organization, working closely with the management and advice on people-related issues such as talent management, employee relations, rewards and benefits, diversity and inclusion as well as organization development and training.

    The selected candidate will collaboratively work with senior business leaders to prioritize strategic people and solutions that accelerate the achievement of business plans through all human resources functions in accordance with labor laws.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide HR support, through partnership and coaching to all levels of the organization.
    • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs, laws and policies.
    • Work with senior business leaders to develop contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
    • Be up-to-date on employment laws and regulations as well as other legal requirements regarding people management, to help leaders ensure compliance.
    • Implement HRM interventions on employee wellness, diversity and inclusion and talent management.
    • Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
    • Provide rigorous data analysis and reporting solutions on business needs.
    • Partner closely with regional partners on global strategy and execution.

    Person Specification:

    • Minimum of Bachelors’ Degree in Human resources or business-related fields.
    • Minimum of Four (3) years of HR experience with at least two (2) years of experience as an HRBP in a Fintech or from outsourcing companies managing over 300 employees.
    • Intermediate excel proficiency (not basic)
    • An HR professional certification is highly preferred.
    • Previous experience in coaching employees and management through complex issues.
    • Ability to set up and track relevant metrics and KPIs and use them to drive business results.
    • Proven experience using the HRIS and other HR technologies which includes but is not limited to business intelligence, data visualization programs, or online communication tools to create and implement HR strategy, apply HR Management practices, and track spending.
    • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite is a common requirement.
    • Working knowledge of relevant Labor Laws.
    • Payroll Management using Microsoft Excel is a must and ability to manage employee offsite.
    • Must have worked in an organization with high headcount and managed employees from different locations across the country.
    • MUST reside in Kano
