    Head, Talent Management

    The function of this management role is to guide and manage Talent for DPL Limited. (two plant location: Ibese Ogun State and Obajana kogi State). The role will also cover recruitment and selection, transfers and redeployments, performance management while focusing overall on the achievement of Succession Planning. The Head, Talent Management leads talent management practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented high-performance culture that emphasizes quality, productivity, goal attainment and empowerment and is responsible for the development of processes and metrics that supports the achievement of DPL’ s business goals.

    The occupant of the role must have:

    • Experience in talent management, succession planning and development| A proven track record of leading the delivery of HR functions to a high standard.
    • Experience in developing HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance| The ability to originate and lead organisational strategies in HR.
    • Knowledge and experience of introducing new ideas to improve employee engagement| Ability to write and deliver creative, imaginative presentations to colleagues at all levels.
    • Experience or familiarity in using SuccessFactors (SF) and SAP – (especially HCM Module) and or some other Human Resources Information Management Systems. 
    • Membership of CIPMN and occupational experience.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Highly confidential individual who will give a clear picture with full understanding of how each SBU is running and what is happening at all levels regarding talent management.
    • Use effective people skills to always ensure good relationships with all employees and external contacts.
    • Develop and implement HR planning, produce accurate HR reports weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly to provide accurate information to Management.
    • Benchmarking and undertaking searches and surveys for best HR recruitment and talent management practices.
    • Manage a high-volume workload. The Head Talent Management will be expected to keep up with paperwork and meticulous diary-keeping to manage all workloads associated with the talent management process and development across the three SBUs.
    • Communicate at all levels, with an excellent understanding of the values of the company and to ensure buy-in to those values to fulfil the position.

    Duties and Responsibilities.

    • Develop and implement the HR strategy aligned to the business objectives and company HR initiatives| Be responsible for all recruitment and selection processes, policy and practices, talent management, succession planning, driving performance appraisals and any other HR related function).
    • Lead the work to regularly review the company's talent management processes within the business areas, including performance/potential management, resource planning and succession planning
    • Where required, work in partnership on projects to aid continuous improvement and implement performance improvement programmes (e.g., changes to working practices, organisation changes and lean programmes) | Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring metrics that support the achievement of business goals, and necessary
    • Manage all recruitment needs for the company, including implementing and continually developing a robust recruitment process.
    • Overseeing the day-to-day management of the recruitment process, including reviewing job descriptions, website advertising, updating of the company resource plan, sifting through and selection of CV’s, attending interviews and selecting candidates| Creating and continually improving offer letters and contracts of employment, whilst managing the timely distribution of such documents.
    • Managing the collation of references, and security clearance as relevant to each role| Ensuring all relevant certificates and employee documents are received on or before 1st day of employment.

    Responsible For:

    The overall management and documentation of the following:

    • Talent Management| Recruitment and Selection| Transfers and Redeployment| Writing and delivery of the HR Strategy.
    • Performance Management Process – including, Probation, Annual & Bi-annual appraisals, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) setting etc.

    Person Specification:

    Education/Experience/Knowledge:

    • First degree in Business Administration/ Economics or any Social Science course or related discipline with MBA or master’s degree (specializing in HR) with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in HR at managerial grade| CIPMN membership.
    • Experience of designing and delivering coaching/mentoring, learning & development and talent management programmes.
    • Interpersonal relationships, discretion, and confidentiality| Ability to communicate at all levels| Knowledge of employment law| Knowledge of work-based learning.
    • Experience of using HR Information Systems| Experience of report writing using Microsoft Office.
    • Recruitment and Selection experience| Ability to innovate, to create and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Experience of designing and writing HR policies, procedures, offers and contracts of employment| Experience of working with FMCGs and third-party Organisations, especially for outsourcing.

    HEMM Operator

    We are looking for an HEMM Operator who will be responsible for operating heavy earth-moving machinery efficiently and safely to support optimal site operations. Key responsibilities include conducting routine equipment inspections, reporting faults, and ensuring compliance with safety standards to minimize equipment downtime and maximize productivity. Operators work closely with engineers and technicians, maintaining a clean work area and following company policies.

    Key Duties And Responsibilities

    • Operate heavy earth-moving machinery according to operational guidelines.
    • Conduct pre-operation and post-operation inspections to identify faults and ensure optimal equipment performance.
    • Report equipment issues and collaborate with maintenance teams for repairs.
    • Comply with safety regulations and company policies to prevent accidents and injuries.
    • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and performance.
    • Keep work areas organized and clean.
    • Perfobrm additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
    • Ensure 100% compliance with safety rules and regulations as per Company guidelines

    Requirements

    Education and Work Experience

    • SSCE, Relevant certification or diploma in engineering or technical discipline.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of experience operating heavy machinery.
    • Valid Class H Licence

    Skills And Competencies

    • Knowledge of diagnostic tools and software used for troubleshooting HEMM equipment.
    • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems used in heavy earth-moving machinery.
    • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
    • Experience with HEMM Brands: Familiarity with specific brands of heavy machinery (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo) is a plus.
    • Physical stamina to work in hot, dusty, and noisy environments.
    • Strong understanding of metal properties and machining procedures.

    Operator - Packing Plant

    Location: Ibese Plant, Ibese Plant

    The Packing Plant Operator is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of equipment and systems within the cement packing plant. The role involves ensuring that cement is properly packed, weighed, and dispatched according to production targets, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure the achievement of the packing target (e.g., 750 MT of cement per twelve-hour shift).
    • Report to the Shift Manager at the beginning of each shift and receive specific instructions or work assignments.
    • Perform proper shift handover and takeover to ensure continuity of operations.
    • Operate packers, autoloaders, and other packing plant machinery efficiently—preferably in automatic (auto) mode.
    • Regularly check the weight of cement bags to maintain the 50 kg standard; immediately report any deviation to the Supervisor.
    • Properly stack and label rejected or damaged (busted) bags in designated areas to prevent contamination or loss.
    • Keep the packing area continuously manned; do not leave the workstation unattended during operations.
    • Obtain permission before leaving the work area for any reason.
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by removing rejected materials and ensuring orderly housekeeping.
    • Conduct routine equipment checks and report mechanical or process faults to the Shift Supervisor or Maintenance team.
    • Ensure smooth communication and handover to the incoming operator at the end of the shift.
    • Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures, including ISO Management Systems (QMS, EMS, and OHSAS).

    Requirements

    • WASC/GCE/SSCE or Trade Test I, II, or III in a relevant technical field (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance).
    • 2–9 years of relevant experience in cement packing, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
    • Ability to read, write, and follow standard operating procedures.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.
    • Physically fit and capable of performing manual and technical tasks.
    • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new machinery and processes.

    CNG Compressor Mechanic - Ogun State

    The CNG Compressor Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of the compressor and its core components to support uninterrupted gas compression operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Inspect, monitor, and maintain CNG compressor units to ensure optimal performance.
    • Perform routine preventive maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, tightening, filter replacement, and component adjustments.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues affecting compressor function.
    • Diagnose equipment faults and carry out corrective repairs promptly to minimize downtime.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Minimum of Technical Diploma, Trade Test, or C OND in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience working specifically with CNG compressors or industrial gas compressors.
    • Strong understanding of high-pressure compressor systems and safety requirements.
    • Ability to interpret equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, and basic wiring diagrams.

    Skills & Competencies

    • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
    • Familiarity with compressor performance indicators (pressure, temperature, lubrication, vibration)
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
