    Technical Officer - AGYW & Prevention Services

    Job Description

    • Will provide technical and programmatic oversight to the AGYW component of the NAHI grant.
    • This will include coordinating and driving the implementation and monitoring of interventions targeted at adolescent girls and young women across implementing States.
    • He/she will coordinate the delivery of prevention services to vulnerable groups especially to AGYW, provide day to day guidance to implementing states on appropriate technical and programmatic approaches for HIV prevention services including reproductive health (SRH) services, and gender-based violence (GBV) mitigation and post-violence care for AGYW. Also, the TO-AGYW & PS will ensure layering of services for HIV prevention in AGYW, work closely with monitoring and evaluation staff to define data needs related to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for AGYW and prevention programming.
    • He/she will recommend evidence-based improvements in the delivery of AGYW and prevention services and work with sub-recipients and staff across implementing states to adapt and disseminate guidelines, tools and procedures that will support the achievement of quality service delivery.

    Minimum Recruitment Standard

    • MB.BS / MD / PHD / BPharm / BSc-Nursing or similar Degree with 1 to 3 years relevant experience in HIV/AIDS and Adolescents & Young People programming with sound understanding in provision of HIV prevention and treatment services in resource constrained settings.
    • Or MPH or MS / MA in relevant Degree with 3 to 5 years relevant experience in HIV/AIDS and Adolescents & Young People programming with sound understanding in provision of HIV prevention and treatment services in resource constrained settings.
    • Possession of an MPH or post graduate degree in a related field will be an added advantage.
    • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.

    Senior Technical Advisor - Prevention, Research & Learning

    Job Description

    • Will support the grant implementation and coordination of program areas related to AGYW and PWUD by contributing to the knowledge base and profile of these intervention areas to inform program design, delivery, monitoring and quality assurance whilst also contributing to reviews of existing implementation policies, guidelines and program approaches in partnership with civil society, government, donors and other stakeholders based on learnings and emerging needs through Implementation Science and Research.
    • Under the supervision of the Technical Director, he/she will provide day-to-day implementation support and advice to implementing states on appropriate technical and programmatic approaches for harm reduction and AGYW interventions, with a focus on quality and evidence-based interventions, guide implementers, in partnership with technical agencies i.e. UNODC and UNAIDS to bring evidence-based improvements in the delivery of harm reduction and AGYW services which respond to people’s needs, use of data for decision making.
    • The STA-PRL will also work with stakeholders and staff across implementing states to adapt and disseminate guidelines, tools and procedures aligned to normative global guidance that will support the achievement of quality service delivery, including monitoring compliance.

    Minimum Recruitment Standard

    • Master's Degree in Public Health, Health Policy or a related field with 5 - 8 years’ work experience in statistical analysis and operational research methods.
    • A Degree in Statistics or Data Science and/or possession of a PhD in any relevant field will be an added advantage.
    • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.
    • Experience working with donor funded programs required, Global Fund/PEPFAR experience desirable.

    Technical Officer - HIVST & Prevention Services

    Job Description

    • Will provide technical and programmatic oversight to the HIVST component of the NAHI grant.
    • This will include coordinating and driving the implementation and monitoring of activities targeted at HIVST across implementing States.
    • Under the supervision of the Senior Technical Officer, he/she will collaborate with other stakeholders on HIVST to ensure leveraging of resources to achieve overall goal, represent the organization in National HIVST subcommittee meeting, ensuring target achievement and meeting donors expectations. 
    • Provide day to day guidance to implementing states on appropriate technical and programmatic approaches for HIVST service provision and work closely with Monitoring and Evaluation staff to define data needs related to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for HIVST and prevention programming.

    Minimum Recruitment Standard

    • MB.BS / MD / PHD / BPharm / BSc - Nursing or similar Degree with 1 to 3 years relevant experience in HIV/AIDS services especially as it relates to Prevention Services (HTS, HIVST, PrEP, PEP, etc) in resource constrained settings.

    Technical Officer - Pharmacy & Supply Chain Management

    Job Description

    • Will assist the Senior Technical Officer (PSM) in the development of AHNi in-house capacity among the various departments, implementing agencies (IAs) and all tiers of government in all aspects of logistics and supply chain management of health commodities.
    • S/he will provide technical support and leadership to Nigeria’s efforts to strengthen the procurement and supply chain management system of health commodities using evidence-based data from the logistics management information system, to reduce stock-outs, lower costs and eliminate wastage.
    • The TO-PSM will ensure continuous availability of health products for service provision, liaise with state LMCU in following up with distribution plans to ensure last mile distribution of commodities to supported facilities by 3PLs; flagging off every delivery anomaly, not limited to deliveries by proxy, delivery at odd times etc.
    • S/he will provide technical support and oversight in collaboration with the State LMCU to ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness of LMIS reports submitted by facility focal persons, support the SRs and State LMCU to prepare the Last Mile Distribution order and review same to ensure that prepared LMDs reflect LMIS reports submitted by supported health facilities in the State.

    Minimum Recruitment Standard

    • A University Degree (MBBS), B. Pharm., B.Sc. in Public Health, B.Sc. in Supply Chain management with 1 - 3 years’ experience in Procurement and Supply Chain Management is required.
    • Possession of an MPH or post graduate degree in a related field is an added advantage.
    • 1 - 3 years’ relevant experience in HIV prevention, treatment, and care programs.
    • Good knowledge of health commodities management for infectious diseases, especially HIV/AIDS and TB.
    • Good working knowledge of current National and WHO HIV/AIDS guidelines for prevention, treatment, care & support of adults and children.
    • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health system and NGOs is highly desirable.
