    Team Lead, Financial Reporting & Consolidation

    Job Description

    • To oversee the daily financial transactions of the finance department. He/She will be responsible for providing support in monthly and annual book closing and reporting, supervises all ledger reconciliations, oversees producing periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly and yearly) and ensuring reports depicts accurately the financial health and position of the business at the different entity levels and group levels.
    • Preparation of the audited financial statement is his/her primary responsibility.

    Core Functions / Responsibilities
    Reporting:

    • Manage the preparation and distribution of internal financial statements and reports, maintaining the highest quality, reliability, and accuracy
    • Develop and maintain the integrity of the financial reporting process and controls.
    • Coordinate, develop and update written policies and procedures over the financial reporting process
    • Monitor legislative, regulatory, and international reporting developments and communicate the changes effectively within the organization
    • Manage regulatory payments and filings, PAYE, Pension, WHT and VAT, other tax, and relevant tax filings

    Consolidation:

    • Reviews the financial statement of subsidiaries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Consolidates and supervises the preparation of the group’s financial reports.

    Operations:

    • Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
    • Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
    • Continuing to improve the payment process.

    Audit:

    • Ensure the completion of the yearly audited exercise within the agreed timeframe and with zero exception

    Strategy:

    • Participate in the formation of the Group’s strategy

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's or Master's in a Business-oriented discipline. Professional qualifications (ACCA, ACA, CPA completed or in progress) is essential.
    • Minimum of 6 years accounting knowledge with at least 2 years in leadership position
    • Understanding of retail/hospital accounting system
    • Strong numerical, reconciliation skill and attention to details
    • Ability to innovate and lead the building of new value-adding platforms
    • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and accounting applications
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    Expense Controller

    Job Purpose

    • The cost controller is responsible for controlling costs including Capital expenses, operating and project cost. This includes planning, developing, controlling, and forecasting costs.
    • The cost controller works collaboratively with various department managers to analyze costs, assess vendor relationships, and maximize profitability and.
    • The successful candidate must demonstrate an aptitude for efficiency, problemsolving, and resourcefulness, with a deep commitment to the bottom line without compromising quality.

    Core Functions / Responsibilities
    Planning Costs:

    • Budgeting and monitoring of capital expenditures and operational cost including evaluating and conducting project cost/benefit analysis.

    Managing Costs:

    • Create a process for vendor onboarding and review of existing vendors.
    • Assess all incoming products, resources, and services to ensure the best price.
    • Ensure cost optimization by rolling out clear cost-saving programs with timelines and assessment goals.
    • Work in conjunction with all department heads to initiate cost savings methods on a proactive basis.

    Monitoring Costs:

    • Monitor and update cost estimates for projects to ensure that costs are within expected ranges.
    • Reviewing expense reports to ensure that expenses are reasonable and appropriate for the circumstances
    • Coordinate with other departments to ensure all costs are accurately tracked
    • Conducting cost analyses to identify areas where costs can be optimized altogether
    • Monitor budgets to ensure that spending does not exceed approved levels
    • Collect cost data periodically from suppliers or subcontractors to track material costs
    • Preparing reports to management regarding costs and expenses

    Requirements

    • B.Sc. in social science related discipline plus Professional Qualification (ICAN, ACCA, CPA ).
    • Minimum of 5 years of cost control experience.
    • Intermediate knowledge of MS-Office suite.
    • Capacity to work long hours, under pressure and with less supervision
    • Exceptionally well organized with an aptitude for data
    • Able to generate budgets and reports.
    • Strong presentation skills, able to explain concepts concisely and accurately.
    • Creative thinking skills and ability to solve problems.

    Senior Associate

    Job Description
    Negotiation and Review of Agreements:

    • Negotiate, draft, and finalise terms and conditions for a wide range of agreements and contracts and other legal documents.
    • Review and interpret agreements, policies, procedures, and other relevant documentation to identify problems with respect to legality, enforceability, form and substance, and recommendations.

    Litigation:

    • Gather evidence to initiate legal actions or formulate defence, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of the case.
    • Apply excellent legal drafting skills to develop requisite court processes to be filed in court as a claim or defence of lawsuits
    • Manage and monitor cases through the enforcement process ensuring that all activities are completed in the required timelines and conform to court rules.

    Legal Advisory Services and Legal Support:

    • Conduct legal research on a variety of legal issues leading to the preparation of technically sound legal opinions, reports, and papers, summarizing results and including recommendations respecting implementation, form of response or course of action to be taken.
    • Provide commercially focused legal transactional advice on company formation, articles of association, shareholders agreements, joint venture agreements, board minutes and resolutions.
    • Provide expert and timely advice on law, legal procedures and wide range of associated issues.

    Debt Recovery:

    • Communicate with Practice Partner and other team members on methods and strategies about debt collection services and procedures.
    • Provide regular status update or progress report on debt recovery to clients.
    • Maintain up to date knowledge and understanding of appropriate regulations and internal policies and procedures in relation to debt recovery.

    Commercial and Litigation Reporting:

    • Regularly write articles and prepare various reports for different internal and external audiences.

    • To develop and maintain productive and strong client relationship To establish and sustain relationships with other professionals
    • To respect Partners, Senior Associates, Staff and clients, and in turn earn their respect;
    • Support senior fee earners by providing technically sound legal advice directly to clients with appropriate supervision
    • Maintain high standards of professional conduct while generating adequate practice income, ensuring that the fees earned sufficiently exceed total costs and expenses incurred
    • Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces Issuing of engagement letter and preparing fee notes.
    • Responsible for ensuring effective management of time, effort and resources in order togenerate maximum efficiencies.
    • To make appropriate/constructive recommendations for service improvement and participate in the growth and development of the units/departments/firm.
    • Make a constructive contribution to the non-chargeable activities of the firm.
    • Undertake special task and perform other related duties as assigned in accordance with departmental and Firm’s objectives.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Degree in Law.
    • Master of Laws LLM will be an added advantage.
    • 7 - 10 years post qualification experience with a reputable firm.
    • Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) will be an added advantage.
    •  Must be efficient and comfortable being a member of a team.
