    Station Cashier

    Location: Sapele, Delta

    Job Summary

    • The Cashier is responsible for accurately processing all customer payments and financial transactions at the filling station while maintaining excellent customer service and strict accountability for cash received.
    • The role involves receiving payments for fuel, lubricants and other products or services sold at the station, issuing receipts, maintaining accurate transaction records, reconciling daily sales and cash collections, and ensuring that all funds are properly accounted for and handed over in accordance with company procedures.
    • The Cashier reports directly to the Station Manager and is expected to maintain the highest standards of integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, professionalism and financial accountability.

    Key Responsibilities
    Cash Handling & Payment Processing:

    • Receive and process payments from customers for fuel, lubricants and other products sold at the station.
    • Process cash, POS/card, bank transfer and other approved payment methods accurately.
    • Verify payments before confirming transactions or releasing goods/services where applicable.
    • Provide customers with accurate receipts and appropriate change.
    • Maintain strict accountability for all cash and payment transactions handled during each shift.
    • Ensure personal funds are never mixed with company funds.

    Daily Sales Reconciliation:

    • Reconcile cash collected against sales records, POS transactions, transfers and other payment records at the end of each shift.
    • Ensure that total collections correspond with recorded sales.
    • Prepare accurate daily/shift cashier reports.
    • Immediately report shortages, overages, payment discrepancies or suspicious transactions to the Station Manager.
    • Properly hand over cash, transaction records and supporting documents at the end of each shift.

    Transaction Recording & Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate and complete records of all transactions.
    • Ensure receipts, POS slips, transfer confirmations and other transaction documents are properly maintained.
    • Follow established procedures for cancelled, reversed, failed or disputed transactions.
    • Assist with maintaining financial records required for daily, weekly and monthly station reconciliation.
    • Ensure transaction information is entered correctly into the station's approved system or register.

    Customer Service:

    • Attend to customers courteously, promptly and professionally.
    • Respond appropriately to customer enquiries relating to payments, receipts and transactions.
    • Escalate customer complaints or transaction disputes to the Station Manager where necessary.
    • Maintain a professional attitude even when handling difficult customers or payment disputes.
    • Help create a positive and efficient customer experience at the station.

    Cash & Financial Control:

    • Safeguard cash and other financial instruments under the Cashier's custody.
    • Follow all company cash-handling, banking and financial-control procedures.
    • Never approve unauthorized discounts, refunds, credits or transaction adjustments.
    • Maintain confidentiality regarding company sales, revenue and other financial information.
    • Immediately report suspected fraud, theft, counterfeit currency or other irregularities.
    • Cooperate fully with internal audits, cash counts and financial reviews.

    POS & Payment Terminal Management:

    • Operate POS terminals and other approved payment systems correctly.
    • Confirm successful POS transactions before treating payments as completed.
    • Monitor failed or reversed transactions and escalate unresolved issues.
    • Keep POS terminals and related equipment secure.
    • Report malfunctioning payment equipment or connectivity problems promptly.

    Shift Handover:

    • Complete all required reconciliation before handing over to another cashier.
    • Clearly document outstanding transactions or unresolved discrepancies.
    • Ensure cash, receipts and transaction records are properly transferred and acknowledged.
    • Never leave the cashier position unattended without following the approved handover procedure.

    Compliance, Safety & Station Procedures:

    • Comply with all company policies, operational procedures and financial-control requirements.
    • Observe filling-station safety procedures and applicable health and safety requirements.
    • Maintain a clean, organized and secure cashier/work area.
    • Participate in staff meetings, training programmes and operational briefings.
    • Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by the Station Manager.

    Qualifications

    • Interested candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor`s Degree with 1 - 5 years experience.

    Station Manager

    Location: Upper Sakponba Road, Benin , Edo
    Reports To :Area Manager / Regional Operations Manager
    Department: Retail Operations

    Job Summary

    • The Station Manager is responsible for the overall management, profitability, and operational performance of the retail service station.
    • The role oversees daily station operations, ensures the achievement of sales and financial targets, manages employees, maintains optimal inventory levels, enforces Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards, and ensures exceptional customer service.
    • The Station Manager is accountable for ensuring the station operates efficiently, complies with company policies and regulatory requirements, and delivers sustainable business growth.

    Key Responsibilities
    Station Operations Management:

    • Manage the overall day-to-day operations of the station.
    • Ensure uninterrupted availability of petroleum products and retail merchandise.
    • Develop and implement operational plans to improve efficiency and profitability.
    • Monitor station facilities, pumps, tanks, generators, and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
    • Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
    • Ensure compliance with company operational standards and regulatory requirements.

    Sales and Business Performance:

    • Drive the achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
    • Develop initiatives to increase fuel and non-fuel sales.
    • Monitor daily sales performance and profitability.
    • Identify business opportunities to improve station revenue.
    • Ensure effective merchandising and product availability.

    Financial and Cash Management:

    • Oversee daily cash collections, banking, and reconciliations.
    • Ensure proper financial controls and adherence to cash handling procedures.
    • Review and approve daily sales and reconciliation reports.
    • Monitor operational expenses and implement cost-control measures.
    • Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies.

    Inventory Management:

    • Ensure accurate fuel stock monitoring and reconciliation.
    • Oversee inventory management for lubricants, LPG, convenience store items, and other products.
    • Approve stock requests and coordinate timely replenishment.
    • Minimize stock losses, product wastage, and shrinkage.
    • Investigate stock variances and implement corrective actions.

    Leadership and People Management:

    • Lead, supervise, and motivate station employees to achieve operational excellence.
    • Recruit, train, coach, and develop station personnel.
    • Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate staffing.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
    • Enforce company policies, discipline, and performance standards.
    • Foster teamwork, accountability, and a high-performance culture.

    Customer Experience:

    • Ensure customers receive prompt, courteous, and professional service.
    • Resolve customer complaints and service issues promptly.
    • Build strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming station environment.

    Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE):

    • Ensure full compliance with all HSSE policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
    • Ensure firefighting equipment and emergency systems are functional.
    • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
    • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

    Compliance and Administration:

    • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and government requirements.
    • Maintain accurate operational, financial, inventory, and personnel records.
    • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly management reports.
    • Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.

    Stakeholder Management:

    • Maintain effective communication with the Area Manager and Head Office.
    • Liaise with suppliers, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other external stakeholders.
    • Represent the station professionally in all business engagements.

    Station Supervisor

    Location: Upper Sakponba Road, Benin, Edo

    Job Summary

    • The Station Supervisor supports the Station Manager in the day-to-day operations of the station, ensuring smooth business operations, excellent customer service, compliance with company policies, and efficient supervision of station staff.
    • The Supervisor assumes responsibility for station operations in the absence of the Station Manager.

    Key Responsibilities
    Operational Support:

    • Support the Station Manager in the daily running of the station.
    • Supervise daily station activities to ensure smooth operations.
    • Ensure the station opens and closes according to approved procedures.
    • Monitor the functionality of pumps, generators, POS terminals, and other station equipment.
    • Escalate operational issues to the Station Manager where necessary.

    Staff Supervision:

    • Supervise Pump Attendants, Cashiers, and other station personnel during assigned shifts.
    • Assign daily tasks and monitor staff performance.
    • Ensure employees adhere to company policies, grooming standards, and work schedules.
    • Provide on-the-job coaching and guidance to station staff.
    • Report disciplinary issues and attendance concerns to the Station Manager.

    Sales and Customer Service:

    • Monitor daily fuel and non-fuel sales.
    • Ensure prompt, courteous, and professional customer service.
    • Resolve customer complaints and escalate unresolved issues.
    • Encourage the achievement of station sales targets.

    Inventory Management"

    • Monitor fuel stock levels and retail inventory.
    • Assist in daily stock reconciliation and inventory counts.
    • Report stock shortages, variances, or losses.
    • Ensure products are properly stored and accounted for.

    Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE):

    • Ensure compliance with all HSSE policies and procedures.
    • Conduct routine safety inspections of the station.
    • Ensure firefighting equipment is available and serviceable.
    • Report accidents, incidents, hazards, and near misses immediately.
    • Promote a safe working environment for employees and customers.

    Reporting and Documentation:

    • Prepare and submit shift reports.
    • Maintain accurate operational records.
    • Report equipment faults, maintenance issues, and operational challenges.
    • Assist the Station Manager in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

    Acting Station Manager:

    • Take charge of station operations in the absence of the Station Manager.
    • Make operational decisions within approved authority.
    • Ensure uninterrupted station operations until the Station Manager returns.

    Requirements

    • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor Degree, HND with 1-5 years experience.
