    Service Fulfillment Engineer

    Job Description

    • The Service Fulfillment Engineer is responsible for deploying carrier grade and reliable network infrastructure and services for ipNX enterprise customers in accordance with set SLAs.
    • Will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating activities required to fulfil and support network services to enterprise customers. These include the management of existing and development of new network infrastructure and systems, as well as overseeing system & network administration tasks.
    • He will also act as the 2nd level contact for customer faults relating to network connectivity & systems by taking ownership of reported customer issues and seeing these problems through to resolution. Your Key support responsibility includes researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting, identifying and implementing solutions to resolve all network connectivity & system issues.

    Responsibilities

    • Install, configure, optimize and maintain network connectivity infrastructure & systems for the ipNX
    • Network as well as for enterprise customers as per agreed set standards and SLAs.
    • Safeguard performance, capacity, availability (>99.9%) and quality of the ipNX network by monitoring emerging
    • incidents and initiating preventive actions.
    • Recommend areas of improvements, product enhancements incl. new platforms, features and services that meets present and future needs of the voice communications business.

    Requirements

    • B.Sc in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / IT Related Disciplines (2.1 Upper Credit Minimum).
    • At least 2 years experience within the telecoms space as a Network Communications Engineer.
    • Understanding of Communications Networks. Cisco network certification is required.
    • Practical Experience with Network Connectivity Devices (Routers & Switches).
    • A good grasp of Wireline & Wireless Installations (Fibre & Ethernet Cabling, IP Planning, RF Planning, Network Design, Installation and Maintenance).
    • High degree of Microsoft Office Suite competence [Bonus: Visio, MSProject].

    OSP Planning and Design Technician

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Conduct Site surveys for study and planning of new FTTH deployment.
    • Prepare Low Level Design of Civil and Fiber Infrastructure for Optical Distribution Network (ODN) deployment to cover future demands.
    • FTTH Optical Distribution Network (ODN) planning, Cost estimation, Route Selection, fiber Management and Fiber Link Power Budgeting.
    • Prepare detailed FTTH design drawings including duct layouts and cabling layouts.
    • Preparation of BoM for FTTH OSP projects.
    • Preparation of High Level project scope description.
    • Preparation of fiber cabling plan and splice plans for FTTH projects.
    • Pre-project discussions and co-ordination with FTTH roll-out team and OSP vendors.
    • Joint site walk-throughs with OSP Supervisor and contractor after kickoff meetings.
    • Conduct joint surveys with project team to resolve variation and change in scope issues.
    • Accuracy of OSP design (measured by level of modification by Team lead required on the design before final submission to Head, Network Services Business Unit).
    • Accuracy of Bill of Materials within tolerance limits.
    • The percentage of time site surveys are done within schedule without unnecessary re-visits.

    Requirements

    • HND in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering/Computer Science, Information Systems. However, field experience for Non- science or engineering backgrounds can be considered.
    • Experience using CAD (Autocad, Visio) and Microsoft office software.
    • Excellent communication skill.
    • Analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Prioritizing work.
    • Generating & maintaining accurate records.
    • Outside Plant Fibre experience – site surveys, fibre laying, splicing, termination, troubleshooting.
    • Ability to use fibre tools e.g optical power metre, light source and OTDR.

    OSP Deployment Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Corporate Customers: Restore service failures within 3 hours of its occurrence- Implementation and integration of new projects and ensure all open incident tickets are closed within this time-frame.
    • Retail Customers: Restore service failures within 12 hours of its occurrence.
    • Incident Management Communication: Provide prompt feedback for input into the OTRS application with information relating to activities being carried out to resolve customer service incidents.
    • Proactively identify, plan and execute preventive maintenance action on the fibre network.
    • Audit and collate information for the fiber outside plant network. Prepare the as-maintained documents within region/sub-region managed for the O &M Unit.
    • Ensure weekly support status reports are done and submitted timely for review.
    • Activate FOS Customer requests within 3 days of sign up. Sign-off the Customer Feedback Form, prepare and submit post-activation report.

    Requirements

    • University Degree in Telecoms, Engineering or Applied Sciences.
    • At least 2 years in telecommunications industry, with experience in Fiber network deployments. and outside plant maintenance.
    • Specific Knowledge of Civil Works planning applications with Nigerian Local Authorities.
    • Proven track records of maintenance and management of metro and/or long distance fibre optic infrastructure.
    • Sound knowledge of telecom industry best practices, norms and technical requirements with regard to fibre & civil work maintenance.
    • FTTx and/or P2P fibre deployment and maintenance experience are distinct advantages i.e. fibre termination using fusion splice machines, testing & analyzing fibre links with OTDR and Light Source/Power Meters (LSPM), identifying fibre cores with VFLs.
    • Capable of understanding fibre network architectures, designs & splice plans.
    • User experience for Microsoft Office Tools including a good working knowledge of MicrosoftProject.
    • User experience for Visio/AutoCAD/GIS tools is desired.
